I have absolutely no clue as to how electric guitar hardware works. I can't remember which part is the bridge, I don't understand the difference in magnet setups (although I can tell whether a guitar is a les paul, a strat or other by ear), I don't know how amps work and what "chorus" is, I don't know why an amp needs that small amp overhead, I can understand that a tube amp needs time to warm up. What else? I have only changed strings on my bass two times in 25 (fuck) years.

>>131521318
Many such cases
>>
>>131521318
I find it hard to believe that some people can’t distinguish a picked note from a legato note
>>
Convince me why I should spend $1500 on an amp compared to an amp sim which does the same thing for less than a fraction of the cost. I don't do gigs btw, this is for fun and music production which is also something I do for fun. But don't confuse fun for not sounding good, I want the shit I make to sound good. I need comparisons or something to convince me.
>>
>>131521422
you sound like your main decision point is cost. if that's true then go for an amp sim. cost isn't a factor for me so i buy real gear as a luxury

>>
>>131521422
you shouldn't spend $1500 on an amp. buy a blues jr. used. only around 400-500.
that will be your gigging amp. then use sims for production.

fools shit on the blues jr here. but practicality is more important. most venues people realistically play is appropriate for the blues jr. volume

Also why analog recorsing sounds better and feels three-dimensional compared to digital. Have you ever heard the band Witchcraft? They record analog, when you listen to them for the first time without knowing them you go "how did I miss this band from the 70s?"

>>131521475
This is what I'm interested in, is in the sound difference and sound quality, but for some reason people take it like you're a poorfag. I prefer to be efficient.
>>131521496
I'm looking for something that really makes the instrument pop out and feel 3d without having to use 8-16 different modulators to get the right sound, because while its cheaper, it's a lot to simulate it, and it functionally sounds the same to the average normie.

you stupid? I choose practical and decent amps over boutique nonsense.
my collection should show u i could easily afford a $1000+ amp. I'm just wise enough to realize a blues jr is better for what I do.
>lightweight
>loud enough for small/medium venues
>good preamp overdrive
>quiet enough for smaller venues.
>still a tube amp

You are bragging about amps when you probably do not even fucking gig. you sit in your damn room and play your half stack on 1 and pretend your tone is good.

You aren't a performer, why am i being criticized for choosing a practical amp.

as for my Jazz chorus its
>heavy as fuck 77 pounds
>loud af
>great for recording
>amazing cleans
>takes pedals well
>impractical for most venues
>>
>>131521804
the tubes don't provide any of that. that's all just EQ. and without the tubes clipping, you're not getting compression. compression is clipping. if the tube isn't clipping all it's doing is making the signal louder. it has to clip to affect the tone
>>
>>131521932
>my collection

>>131521712
They start to have problems after around 5 years of constant shows. Pros I know have gone through 2-3 in my lifetime, and one went bad on a high paying gig.
For average players they're great, there is a reason you dont see them on big stages. Blues Deluxe is the bigboy better version, or a Peavy Delta is basically the same but more reliable, American made by white people.

I loved it, only other amp I know of that has a built in stereo effect are Magnatone trem/vibrato.

Not every song needs chorus so I rarely used it, and double mic setup for just one effect wasn't worth it.

Best part was the amp was loud and full. A plethora of bass mid and arguably too much treble. My Octavia sounded great through it though. I forget why I sold mine, but wish I kept it. I'd personally get the new JC models that have stereo inputs and outputs, there are a lot of possibilities with that. Wet dry wet, or just wet dry would be significantly eaiser for small gigs

Yes and yes; both a tuning issue and an electric guitar (distorted) issue
I think it's normal for distortion as the overtones are amplified and larger than what you are used to hearing from a purer acoustic timbre
In this annoying example some 4ths and 5ths are played, some slightly out of tune making that overtone annoying. When in tune it's not so bothersome. Also listen carefully with the country bend thing - there's a third tone shifting other than the fifth and the root note being bent

>its now trivial because im an idiot
I find it odd how you wrongly shit on newer JC120's, but then get offended at people shitting on the Blues Jr.

If I didnt educate you on the analog chorus you probably would have thought it sounded bad irl

it simply isnt that deep

i care very little about my inaccurate statement about the jc120

Perhaps you should stop posting or replying before getting your facts straight
>>

>le ebin ownage dude
its not that significant or deep.
i actually compared my vintage jc120 with a modern one and mine mogged.

I have trouble with rhythm especially when there's a rest, I try and keep my strumming arm moving while I mute but the rest messes me up, how can I fix this?
>>
i still cant believe bba sold his strat after all that talk about playing funk
>>
>>131524240
limit the travel of your movement. it’s good to keep the rhythm arm moving. are you having problems with getting back to where you need to be or just losing time?
>>
>>131524265
its the only guitar i miss that ive sold.
>>
>>131524240
i wouldn't worry about it
>>

Going to use above as an example (not entirely accurate tab but this is where i noticed it)
I guess my issue is that I'm not sure how many movements I should be making per measure, if I could get that ironed out I think I'd be fine.
>>
You don't play a made in USA Fender, Gibson or Paul Reed Smith? Guess you're not a serious player willing to invest in the hobby.
>>
>>131524237
Explain, just because something is older doesnt mean it mogs. The new ones sound the same.

Not your Tele or P90 Special?
>>
>>131524336
Nope, musician isn't a serious thing, never really has been and is becoming more and more culturally irrelevant as time goes on. Plus I can make a glarry sound better than anything you play, cold hard realities suckah.

Got invited to play in a punk band. Bought a used Gretsch Streamliner and used Orange Super Crush 100

Nice. Interesting African guitar stuff. To my outsider ears it sounds like the phrasing comes from marimba or 4 mallet xylophone stuff but converted into guitar strings
>>
Another day, another dogshit /gg/.
>>
>>131524334
seems pretty simple either 16th notes or 1/8th notes depending on the song. unless I’m missing something? I doubt you’re playing country or bluegrass that have very distinct strumming patterns
>>
>>131524564
I'll try that with a metronome thanks
>>
>>131524623
you probably won’t get full strums on 16th notes it’s just too fast.
>>
>>131524771
I think it's 8th notes but I really just meant to keep my hand moving not full strums
>>
>>131524265
a surprisingly smart move from him
>>
>>131524775
word. start with just muted strings for a little while until you get used to it so you can really focus on the technical aspect. good luck
>>
>one schizo having a multi-post conversation with himself
So this is what /gg/ has come to, eh?
>>
woah guess no one cared
>>
>>131524832
schizo just went to sleep is all, he won't start talking to himself for at least 6 to 12 hours

Become hard to actually talk about guitar in here

Worst thread on /mu/ and has been for a long LONG time.

just reply to yourself for hours, that's what all the other schizos do

NOOOOOOOO good job! Fun to see improvised stuff like that, soon I'll be that good, just not yet.
