She probably figured that Surrender being an expensive disappointment meant that she couldn't afford to fuck up twice. That said, she still needed an album out before opening for Coldplay lest she be playing music from two years ago and effectively retouring Surrender again.Only for DFM to do even worse than Surrender saleswise. Sure, she saved money, but God only knows what she spent in touring for it.
