Was macht der Tölpel da mit dem Topf?
>Eroica 2nd movement>Chopin 2nd Sonata 3rd movement>Siegfried's Funeral March>Mahler 1st 3rd movementWho did it best?
Hi, still the anon who finished the Clementi sonatinas on Musescore.I decided to start looking at Scarlatti's stuff, and many of those have not been rendered on Musescore. A long journey awaits me, I guess.(I like him, though!)
>>132044119Indubitably Chopin. But Eroica is pretty close.
>The Scarlatti Tilt‘It’s very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who’s learning to play the violin.’ That’s what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.—Richard Brautigan
>For me, it's Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Boccherini
>>132044119in the context of the Ring then it's Siegfried's funeral march and it's not even closeif it's in the context of a first time listener listening to those movements outside of the entire piece, I would say the most musically effective would be Chopin's funeral march
>>132042310Yea, it sounds kinda like a waltz but there's something creepy about it.Very salty we haven't gotten Tchaikovsky 7, 8, 9.
I often get the impression that Vivaldi could do things only Mozart would otherwise reliably do, two generations later. And he doesn't get enough credit for that.
How is Siegfried's funeral march a 'funeral march'? It doesn't even have the signature rhythm.
>>132045963people just called it that because he's dead and his body is being carried, but in the actual opera it's just transitional music from one scene to the next that plays around with the Siegfried and Death motifs before Gutrune comes onstage wondering where Siegfried could be. It's not really meant to be a funeral march in the same musical sense as other pieces under that name
>>132043191>CTRL + F>Mozart>1 result foundfurther proof Mozart is underrated
Brahms did more in his 4 symphonies than Wagner did in all of his Operas.
>>132045953> Vivaldi could do things only Mozart would otherwise reliably doCreate dozens of different pieces which sound absolutely the same? I guess I have to agree with you here...

Between the first and second, it's close, but I think I give it to the second set. Hopefully someday I learn to love the third and newest set. Maybe won't happen till I'm older, which makes sense, considering it took him 24 years to change his interpretation!
