I bought a 20 foot sail boat to sail the apostle islands on lake superior. I would like a fog horn, but don't want to spend like 10k/have a 900 pound horn on the front of my boat. Any way to get that iconic BWOOOAAAAAAAAAHHHH Sound on the cheap?
I might be wrong but AFAIK the hornsresonant frequency is dictated mostly be the inertia of the moving part. As such you wont get the same pitch using a smaller generator.I suggest the most feasible way to get as close to the sound youre looking for while leaving the volume just a matter of how much you're willing to pay, is a recording and (a) large speaker(s) with a mock horn to look the part.

>>2046958No, they sound like that because they are huge and have a huge air compressor attached. You can not put that on a smallish sail boat.
