Redpill me on becoming a pilot /n/. The job sounds so cushy. Should I make the transition? Currently I'm an underemployed liberal arts major.

It's a pain in the ass to get ratings and youre gonna be working shit,low-paying jobs for a while in all likelihood

Flying bus driver or flying delivery boy, take your pick

Like I said, sounds great.

It will cost you $100k, 3-4 years, and in the current environment you might not get hired because it's cyclical. You also have to pass a medical so make sure you do that first, they DQ for any mental health issues btw

women have their hand held their entire pilot career

sounds like that would make it harder to fly a plane.

I am getting ready for my PPL checkride. I cant talk to whether the ATP rating life is cushy, but I can tell you this has been a really stressful process. I would sleep for only 4 or 5 hours a night because I would wake up thinking about everything I had to know, the day's upcoming flight, whether I was going to successfully pass my stage checks etc. Its cool to think about flying into Rome and telling the babes there youre a pilot, but the reality for me is waking up at 4am and stressing myself if I remember cloud clearances for Class G over 1200 AGL but under 10000 MSL. Whether I could explain extemporaneously the gravity fed fuel system. The pitot static system. The various emergency procedures. Knowing how to gauge 10 and 5 miles without using GPS during a simulated diversion. Getting Bravo clearances and not sounding like a retard on the radio. I remember being shown the inside of the Cessna for the first time, taking off for the first time and wondering what the fuck I got myself into. After all though, its been a great learning experience and would do it again. The hardest parts are still yet to come for me too!

Some guy once posted greentext 'Jesus save me from frogposter pilots'. Wish I still had that blown up screenshot.
