....your time is running out to see one.
blimp train will change this
>>2050557>The Goodyear Blimp, while frequently seen, is actually a semi-rigid airship, not a true blimpI think this might only apply to the newer Goodyear models. I remember getting to ride inside one of old models, and the pilot demonstrated what the difference was between airships and blimps by tapping his finger on the gas envelope (which was exposed as the "roof" of the gondola so-to-speak) and noting how it made a *blimp* sound whenever he tapped it, indicating there was no rigid structure inside of it.
>>2050557You can still fly a zeppelin tour around the bodensee in germany. Its costly tho, 1000 somewhat euros for a 2 hour flight
why cant they make hot air blimps for the average man without access to helium/hydrogen?
>>2050565What you're describing already exists and is known as a "Thermal airship" but they're not quite as common, probably because they're not as efficient as you need to constantly keep the air inside its envelope hot.
I live next to one and i fucking hate it. Circling around and causing traffic and shitting up the sky. I hope it crashes and explodes and we don't have to deal with it anymore.
>>2050566waht if you made a thermal airship heated by a radioactive isotope?
vieo thread on my /n/?
>>2050562You can fly in a hot air balloon for a lot less money, and it's a lot more memorable.
>>2050571good luck finding passengers
>>2050568Lol. This guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g0C7Lz-qG0 only he's yelling at a balloon far away in the sky lmao
>>2050557come to think of it I don't think I've ever actually seen a blimp in person
