I was thinking of picking up one of those cheapo Aliexpress carbon forks, but my buddy probably rightfully talked me out of it due to safety concerns.Where should I buy an affordable carbon fork in 26" for rim brakes (in Yurop)?
>carbon>26">rim brakesGood luck, grandpa!
just search ebay for a pace or exotic
>>2052098or wound up if you wanna be swag
carbon is mostly weak around the corners due to the internal radius being too wrinkly and containing voids.older bikes use an lugged construction, only problem is that the lugs bonded surface must be kept free of water and air,eg the paint around the joint must be perfect, any cracked or bubbling paint is an slightly bad sign.
>>2052100I don't understand what the target market for those is, but they're nice looking forks
>>2052100Those look twice as heavy as my stock CrMo forks, desu...
>>2053099CX chads
>>2052080there is no timeline overlap between v-brakes and cheap carbon. even among chinks, it's almost impossible to find even a quick release carbon fork nowadays.
>>2052080>26">carbon>rim brakesGirvin bros.... is it finally our time?
>>2053164That was easy
>>2052080One of these is from an (originally factory team exclusive) leading brand's xc world cup fork, the other from a chinese fork; price relation is 10:1. Can that buddy of yours who's an expert in csrbon forks tell which is which?
>>2052100>>2053124Worth it for the drip
>>2053169Post the price, if you dare.Anyway, I opted for an alu fork for my current build.
>>2053752dude its like 150-200€how broke are you?
>>2053726It would help to know the year each one was manufactured, but you would probably consider that cheating
>>2053755a bike shouldn't cost more than $200 fully built
>>2053755Show me (you can't)!
>>2053771Show you what?
Is this the "confusingly expensive forks" thread?

>>2052080Just get the $40 alloy one. It looks like a garbon fork and is light.>t. has one on a shart mart grabel bike
>>2054132This one
>>2053788>28"WE'RE TALKING ABOUT 26" YOU WET NOODLE
>>2054133Not for rim brakes.
>>2053788anon that's more expensive than my entire bike
>>2053769>2011>2024Why would that actually matter, though?

>>2052080I've purchased 2 Hylix CF forks with alumium steer tube from feebay and had no issues. I just commute and dont hop curbs or abuse them deliberately but have hit a few potholes. Ok so far. They are the rim brake variety like what you posted but no positions for disc brakes.Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal but if you're not racing or beating on them or doing doordash and a brazillion miles on them I'd say go for it.
>>2055053I'd kinds beat on them, they're meant for a gravel bike.
>>2052080I'll buy a carbon saddle or seatpost from chinkmarket with little thought. I'll even buy carbon rims, with a little bit of research first. I'd never fucking buy any kind of suspension from that shit, unless there's a mountain of western based reviews, and even then I'd be hesitant.
Had some carbon chink forks and they didn’t explode but the loud creaking noise while braking really put me off and i removed themBought a really expensive bike instead fuck shit bikes
