According to the 2023 U.S. Census Bureau, average commute times in the United States was around 27 minutes
This is roughly the same as it is in Germany, which is also around 30 minutes
And also the UK, which was also estimated to be around 27 minutes, same as the US

What I find the most curios though, is that in nearly every single survey, commute by train always took significantly longer than commuting by bike, car, and walking, as being almost exclusively use rail for long distance. This is why average commute times in Japan is estimated to be around 50 minutes, significantly higher than the US and Europe, because their work culture demands longer commuting distances and they are a society heavily reliant on rail transport, and even so-called "high speed rail" is often subject to delays.

Also due to a lack of funding midnight service can be absolute dogshit, skewing the averages because of 5 hour detours to get to work. Also some transit agencies are so stupid they can't cobble together proper information on Google maps, making transit journeys longer than they have to be.
Going back to bikes, sure they may be faster than a bus, at a certain point, but with enough distance traveled the bus ends up being faster than biking.
A true transit service with grade separation, and proper frequencies (anything less than 3 minutes is a crime) may be slightly slower than a car in light traffic, especially considering things like last mile logistics, but on average it's less likely to be delayed by a significant amount than a car (given that the operating agency is competent).
Also if that study includes shit like people movers and street cars like the LA Metro's E Line it's a failed study.
But walking is healthy and transit usage naturally will require walks
Now the Bus system should be shit on if it has no ROW and double boarding, then it just means the transit agency/municipality is doing the bare minimum for transit.
