The newest development after gravel bikes with suspension forks: Gravel bikes with suspension forks and flat bars. I simply have to have one!
Short travel drop bar bikes make perfect sense tho Drop bars are more ergo for riding long distances and suspension reduces fatigue
>>2052959>reduces fatiguethat's what the fat tires are for
>>2052959I consider it absolutely indisputable that full suspension is superior to no suspension, in performance, in all instances, and it is only the retardation of most bicyclists that is slowing that realization. None of the arguments against suspension hold water. I have always felt more other cyclists are retarded. Most people are retarded. But recently I’ve seen several videos from allegedly well respected creators that so badly misunderstand bike geometry, how the bars interact with steering geometry, and several other topics, that my opinion has fallen even further.
>>2053080Counterpoint: you probably aren't as smart as you think
>>2053080dunning kruger retard: the post
If you do a google image search for "aalewis" on duckduckgo, one of the first results is a full suspension bike. Make of that what you will.
>>2053083well there you have it. no need for suspension, or even really tires and a saddle. oh wait a minute, these bikes are optimized for riding as fast as possible on a perfectly maintained surface. not even something so rough as asphalt.nta btw
>>2053080The ONLY time suspension improves performance is when riding hell for leather down twisty technical rock and tree root strewn trails by improving traction. That's it. In every other scenario suspension slows you down. It adds weight, saps energy and adds multiple new potential points of failure to your bicycle.
>>2053090Retard >>2053085Retard >>2053083RetardNone of you are capable of basic thought
>>2053080retard, its heavier than a rigid, more expensive and you have to service it more. Having a blown out fork or especially rear suspension is annoying. >>2053090also retarded, suspension is nice for anything off asphalt thats not a smooth dirt path. It's not essential but you're still retardedeverybody here is retarded and can't accept that a rigid bike is nice when the trail allows for it, but suspension is also nice at the same time
>>2053092retard
>>2052928Isn’t this basically just a hardtail mtn bike
>>2053138yes
>>2053138Look at you, nicely observed!
>>2053138I believe that is the joke, sir.>>2052928Needs proprietary wheel size so I can buy all new everything.
>>2052928how about gravel bikewith suspension forkand flat barsand really wide tires
>>2053080Counterpoint: you are a twig and your glutes are not thick enough to serve double duty as both your engine and your suspension, so you try to cheat both the game and yourself by making your bicycle floppy and wearing diaper pants
Why don't we just put road bike gearing on mountain bikes? As far as I'm concerned road bike gearing is primarily what makes road bikes fast. Not their light weight.
>>2053180needs an electric motor and it’s perfect
>>2053272>>2053286retard
>>2052928What's the difference between this and hardtail XC mountain bikes?
>>2053299nothing.
>>2052928>r gravel bikes with suspension forksso a mountain bike?
>>2053392
you know theres poorfag coping around when fs bad because it's less efficient >>2053090 and also because its more efficient >>2053186
>>2053180Now we're getting somewhere
>>2053138ur a fuking genius bro
now that we've seeing drop bars and aero features at Leadville can gravel and roadies start being just as annoying as mtbers have been for the past 5 years
>>2053419If you're not riding through rough terrain no suspension will be more efficient than having itThat is provided the "lower" terrain roughness isn't such that the person physically has a hard time outputting power at the same time as staying balancedIMO you'll ve able to go faster with suspension, even if it's mechanically less efficient sinpmy because pedaling and keeping direction+balance becomes easiert.just rides a clapped out hardtail mtb
>>2053419>the most expensive version of this bike that costs $10k still weighs almost 24 poundsThank you for reminding me about why I lost interest in mountain bikes, that's like BSO tier weight for a road bike. I'm not even a weight weenie but come on man. A bike should not weigh more than 20 pounds unless it's loaded up with groceries.
>>2054261road bikers are dyel as fuck
>>2054279>my bike is pointlessly overweight and that's a good thing!Ok? Let me guess being able to do a pull up is also "dyel"?
>>2054292can you even drive your roadbike off a curb or is it gonna crack, weight fag
>>2054302Yes? This might be your breakfast question but turns out when you don't weigh over 300 pounds (huh?!?!? but I do weigh over 300 pounds!!!), you can actually jump all the curbs you want and the bike will be fine!
>>2054302Not that anon but there are steel bikes with disc brakes under 20lbs Things don't get dicey until you're under the UCi limit
>>2054303its not impressive to beable to go UP stairs you roadfag
>>2054305>I'm fatYes, you are
>>2054261I lift so I can princess carry my mtb over a rough terrain
>>2054306I likely weigh more then you because I am not a microman, hows the world under 6'
>>2054308So you're what, 6'12"?
>>2054309>2024>bmishiggy
>>2054332>tel aviv universityfat AND retarded
look, a bike SUV
>>2054492>t. skinnyfat dyel
>>2054552How does that rack work?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS9ugdl1FZcThis mtb guy said "this MTB weighs 37 pounds" with a straight face. What the hell is wrong with MTB people, how do you put up with this?>but I can bench 3 pl8That's great (probably half reps but I'll let it go). Can you climb a flight of stairs without having a heart attack though?
>>2054662Those bikes are meant for riding a chairlift their weight is irrelevant
>>2053080check this shiti have one of those, its handy as fuck, riding on asphalt? lock the suspension. riding on gravel? just turn on your fork and enjoy your smooth ride.
>>2054746that's cheating
>>2054571Hinged at the wheel, so it is separated from suspension travel.I was considering this buke, but at $3700 for bare frame, 38t max chainring and no FD option it is a hard fuck no from me.
>>2054746Only onions lock out suspension.
>>205466237lbs for a full featured enduro bike is featherweight. Good tires can weigh 1.2kg, or about 3lbs, each.
>>2053092You just got btfo dumbo calm down
