They're lighter and more portable than ebikes and can achieve same speeds, some models can do 60mph+, but their problem is low range and even more dangerous than ebikes or escooters. Train/bus + one wheel is such an overpowered combo, micromobility has been the biggest boon in the resurgence of urbanism

I have such a model for my e-bike and it gets me around 10km on a charge at very lazy pedalling (basically only for hills) and when i looked up the real data sheet for the thing it advertises a MUCH longer range on throttle-only and literally lists "PAS" mode as "infinite range!!" (when in reality if the battery is flat it's a huge amount of resistance and it only doesn't feel like it because these things never truly leave PAS mode, they use the hall sensors to try to maintain their current rotation speed and that still drains the battery)
