This is a hit piece on the economy and how everything is awful, the middle class doesn't exist and we are all doomed.

https://www.morningstar.com/news/marketwatch/20250822155/are-you-middle-class-no-youre-not-heres-why

But buried in the article: "Only" 66% of Americans, according to some estimates, actually own their own home.

Maybe it's all those "not middle class" people in the flyover states or something.
>>
so ungrateful 66% and you're unhappy about that? we're all just a bunch of serfs anyways
>>
>>1428752
That seems high to me. Are they playing some stupid game where they're just counting how many homes are owned by individuals so someone owning three homes counts as three American owned homes?
>>
>>1428765
No. Just try living in a rural area where space isn't at a premium and democrats haven't artificially inflated the cost if a home with over regulation.
>>
>>1428780
your hours seem quite condensed, shill. are you sure you can't find a more respectable job
>>
>>1428780
>Just try living in a rural area where space isn't at a premium
aka somewhere with ironically no job opportunities with pay high enough to buy a house.
>>
>>1428783
>no job opportunities

You really believe that, don't you?
>>
>>1428785
well there's always opiate sales
>>
Home ownership is a scam and the entire purpose is to keep people poor. Stats already show that the majority of boomers have no wealth outside of their home. I would bet anything that the majority of that 66% are also house poor. Americans have been brain washed into thinking home ownership is freedom, even though they still have to pay thousands for property tax every year and they don't even start paying principal on their loan until the ten year mark
>>
>>1428792
It's mortgages that are a scam, not the house itself. Boomers have no money because they blow it all at the casino like the retards they are.
>>
>>1428794
I gamble at the casino so I can get some money to help me in my retirement
>>
>>1428811
The statistic is not counting the population, it is counting housing units. People seem to think it's counting population as in, "individual humans in the United States." It is actually counting "buildings/addresses where people live

If they just presented the statistic as "66% of the housing units in the United States have the owner living inside of them" I think it would be much more clear what it actually means, I don't see why not just present it this way unless it's to try and inflate the number of homeowners
>>
>>1428812
but they clearly state that 66% of Americans own a home. There is no mistaking what that means. It has nothing to do with housing unit occupancy and everything to do with 200+ million Americans owning homes.

Every home in the country is owned by somebody, whether they live there or not, so 100% of the homes in the US are owned. That doesn't mean that 100% of Americans are homeowners.

the percentage in the article refers to Americans, not housing units.
>>
>>1428783
Well you can always try to find remote work. Thats why some people move out to rural areas, for the cheaper cost of living
>>
>>1428792
I own a home and i would rather be house poor while building equity and throwing as much at my mortgage as i can rather than pay more to rent and get no equity
>>
>>1428847
look at this!!!!!

people still believe in the fairytale that they own their home. buddy you pay your rent (TAXES) to jewish organized crime or they will steal it in court and the local jewish militia (sherriff) will force you with threat of armed violence to give it to them
>>
>>1428752
Bullshit lmao
It's all mortgages
And for those WITH mortgages, it's definitely less than 66%

Definitely inflated from corporate and private equity ownership, where they purchase single-family homes and rent them out under management corporations or lease them in-perpetuity n government handouts to each other's friends and family
>>
>>1428752
The amount of people who own a paid off house has to be like 5% or something, and virtually none of those are people under 50.
