Home ownership is a scam and the entire purpose is to keep people poor. Stats already show that the majority of boomers have no wealth outside of their home. I would bet anything that the majority of that 66% are also house poor. Americans have been brain washed into thinking home ownership is freedom, even though they still have to pay thousands for property tax every year and they don't even start paying principal on their loan until the ten year mark

It is actually counting "buildings/addresses where people liveIf they just presented the statistic as "66% of the housing units in the United States have the owner living inside of them" I think it would be much more clear what it actually means, I don't see why not just present it this way unless it's to try and inflate the number of homeowners
