LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A Walker man has been ordered to be physically castrated after pleading guilty to sex crimes against a juvenile, prosecutors said.

According to 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux’s office, Marc Rager Sr., 67, was sentenced on Wednesday, September 3, to 99 years in prison along with the order to be physically castrated.

Rager pleaded guilty to 120 combined counts of aggravated crimes against nature, second-degree rape, and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

The Walker Police Department began investigating Rager in July of 2024, prosecutors said. They added that DNA, video, and recorded statements showed that he had been sexually abusing the juvenile for nearly two years.

Assistant District Attorney Greg Stahlnecker Jr. prosecuted the case for the state.

“This plea was taken after consideration for the victim,” Stahlnecker said. “She will never be able to get back what Mr. Rager took from her; however, with this plea, she can begin the road to recovery without having to go through a trial and relive the nearly two years of abuse that she suffered from the defendant.”

WALKER, La. (WAFB) - The Walker Police Department has arrested a man on multiple charges in connection to the alleged rape of a minor.

According to police, Marc A. Rager Sr., 66, is charged with 52 counts of first degree rape of a victim under 13, 60 counts of felony crimes against nature, and eight counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Authorities say Rager was initially arrested on July 27 on one count each of the two latter charges. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered Rager began abusing the victim in 2022 and an additional charge and counts were added.

Rager was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. His bond has been set at $5,250,250, according to officials.

Personally, I've always opposed the government having the right to use castration as a punishment (also, idk how this lands with the constitution banning cruel and unusual punishments).
