That's the thing about so many issues that surround Trump.
Nobody actually expected the ceasefire to hold. I don't think anyone acting in good faith would have blamed Trump for it falling apart if he had just brokered it and that had been the end of it.
But like everything he does, he had to make a grand spectacle out of it, spike the ball, and declare he had brought peace to the Middle East after 3000 years. Then his supporters started a last second campaign for him to receive a Nobel prize despite entrant consideration having ended in February. Then he went on national television and whined that they'd never give it to him even though he brought peace to Gaza.
It's only became a failure on his part because he prematurely demanded credit for the success, which never actually came.
