Anonymous Trump hangs plaques mocking Bi(...) 12/17/25(Wed)18:33:28 No. 1466613 https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-hangs-plaques-mocking-biden-obama-white-house/story?id=128492648 President Donald Trump has installed plaques underneath portraits of presidents at the White House, using them to insult and make unfounded claims about some of his predecessors including Joe Biden and Barack Obama -- the latest in a series of controversial White House changes under Trump. The plaques, many of which the White House said Trump penned himself, add to what the president has dubbed the "Presidential Walk of Fame" -- a portrait gallery along the West Wing Colonnade -- and describe the tenures of former commanders in chief in an overtly political way. Trump's most recent predecessors' plaques read the most editorialized. The permanent signs are stylistically similar to the president's social media posts, with sporadic capitalizations and punctuation -- including many exclamation points. Under Biden, depicted only by his signature written by the presidential autopen, the plaque includes claims such as "Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American History," adding that he took office "as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States" and that "Biden oversaw a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction." Trump also attacked Biden for his economic record, his climate, immigration and foreign policies, including the Afghanistan withdrawal (calling it "among the most humiliating events in American History"). He also said that because of Biden's "weakness," Russia invaded Ukraine, and "Hamas terrorists launched the heinous October 7th attack on Israel." The plaque also cites what Trump calls Biden's "severe mental decline, and his unprecedented use of the Autopen." Under Obama, Trump wrote: "Barack Hussein Obama was the first Black President, a community organizer, one term Senator from Illinois, and one of the most divisive political figures in American History." >>
Anonymous 12/17/25(Wed)18:35:08 No. 1466616 Obama's plaque ends with a more false claims that he "spied on the 2016 Presidential Campaign of Donald J. Trump, and presided over the creation of the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, the worst political scandal in American History." The plaques also make two references to Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of State and the 2016 Democratic nominee who lost to Trump. Under Obama's portrait, it says that Hillary Clinton was his "handpicked successor," and noted that she "would then lose the Presidency to Donald J. Trump." Under Bill Clinton's portrait, it says that "President Clinton's wife, Hillary, lost the Presidency to President Donald J. Trump." Obama had no comment about the plaque. ABC News did not receive immediate responses from Biden and the Clintons for comment. Many of the plaques were "written directly by the President himself," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement about the new decor. "The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind. As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself," Leavitt said in the statement. Trump had teased these bronze plaques during an interview with Fox's Laura Ingraham in November, saying that each would describe what the respective president did during his tenure. In addition to the changes he has made to the colonnade, Trump has also altered the White House by paving over the Rose Garden, renovating White House Palm Room that was originally designed by former first lady Jackie Kennedy and connects the front of the White House to the Rose Garden in the back and redesigning the Oval Office. He has added statues around the Rose Garden and added ample gold leafing and decor to the Oval Office. Most notably, Trump tore down the East Wing of the White House earlier this year, making room for a sweeping, multimillion-dollar ballroom that the president has said will be completed by the end of his term. >>

If you scroll up the thread you'd realize that California was brought up because it has the largest wind farm in the country. Which isn't doing shit for them no matter how much money they throw at it, so they have to import a chunk of their energy from out of state. Now if not for people like you, they would've invested in nuclear plants instead and saved a lot of money actually meeting their demands. But your worried about nuclear waste building up and it being a potential issue in the future. Given our track record, I think we'll be fine but whatever. Point is you're whole argument hinges on how I don't have a solution to get rid of nuclear waste, so let me be very clear here - I'm not a scientist or a nuclear engineer. I'm under ZERO fucking obligation to invent a method of cancelling radiation like Ghost in the Shell just to argue with you, no more than I would be expected to come up with a cure for cancer. So shove your "bad faith" nonsense up your ass. Secondly, every other state that uses nuclear hasn't had an issue with it. But because it creates a byproduct we can't degrade you don't think we should use it. Fair enough! Stop using it then. California (or whatever dogshit blue state you live in) should immediately shell out hundreds of billions of dollars into unreliable, underperforming green energy to replace everything it currently uses - including imports. Anonymous 12/18/25(Thu)14:39:45 No. 1467020 >>1467014 I worked with a guy in big oil and he told me what the scam was. tl;dr Nuclear energy is unironically too efficient. So long as they are built safely and maintained, they produce an indefinite amount of clean energy forever. They actually, unironically, produce less radiation than coal plants. But the profit from energy generation doesn't only come from the power itself. It comes from manufacturing parts and construction contracts. A single power plant is less profitable than ten thousand wind turbines that self-destruct and need their shit replaced all the time. This is basically why oil barons are the biggest shills for wind energy. Extracting oil isn't the goal, making money is the goal.>>

It may be of interest to trace the subsequent history of the Yucca Mountain site as reported in the media. On March 18, 2005, The Denver Post, page 4A, carried an Associated Press report by Erica Werner according to which then-recent studies had found that water seepage through the Yucca Mountain site was faster than what earlier studies had reported. The more-rapid movement of water implied a greater risk of escape of radioactive materials from the site, and there were reasons to suspect that the earlier studies had been intentionally falsified. The Week,, January 26, 2007, page 24, reported a new study: “Special new containers designed to hold nuclear waste for tens of thousands of years may begin to fall apart in just 210 years,” the study found. “Researchers... had pinned their hopes on zircon, a material they thought was stable enough to store the waste....” The scientists had based this belief on computer simulations, but they were “startled” when they discovered how alpha radiation affected the “zircon” in reality. Zircon is a gemstone. The substance referred to in the article presumably is a ceramic called transformation-toughened zirconia. See NEB (2003), Vol. 21, “Industrial Ceramics,” pages 262-63.>>

This after having spent 13.5 billion dollars on the project. On July 15, 2011, USA Today, page 4A, carried an Associated Press report to the effect that the U.S. House of Representatives had appropriated funds for further consideration of the plan to store nuclear waste at the Yucca Mountain site. As of April 2016 I've made no systematic effort to follow these developments further, but if any major, definitive action had been taken for the permanent disposal of radioactive waste it probably would have been well publicized, and we would know about it. Various alternatives have been proposed (see Wald in our List of Works Cited), but whatever solution—if any—is eventually adopted, its execution inevitably will be characterized by negligence, incompetence, and dishonesty. See, e.g., The Economist, March 19, 2011, page 40; Eisler, page 2A. More likely, no definitive action will ever be taken for the permanent disposal of radioactive waste in the U.S. The problem will be allowed to drag on indefinitely, and meanwhile new nuclear power-plants will continue to be built, the festering pools of deadly stuff will grow and grow...>>
