This unexpected news comes hours after the abrupt resignation of Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino

https://www.newsweek.com/house-republicans-call-early-christmas-break-before-epstein-files-release-11234307

Republicans in the House have brought their Christmas recess a day forward—before the Department of Justice (DOJ) is scheduled to release a tranche of documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to a floor update released by Democratic Whip Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, the House will hold its final votes on Thursday afternoon, a change from the GOP’s previously announced schedule which would have seen these taking place on Friday.

Under the guidelines of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump on November 19, Attorney General Pam Bondi had a 30-day deadline to make publicly available all unclassified materials related to Epstein.

Newsweek has contacted the DOJ through its website and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise's D.C. office by phone outside of regular hours for comment.

There is no evidence that the early recess stems from a desire to interfere with the release of the files, or an indication that the DOJ’s deadline could be affected by the altered schedule. However, many online commentators, as well as some Democratic lawmakers, have connected the decision with GOP leadership’s past reluctance to pursue full disclosure around the Epstein case.
>>
According to the text of the Epstein bill, Bondi had until Friday to release all materials in the possession of the DOJ, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices relating to investigations into Epstein, his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as information on travel records, individuals with ties to the pair and his death in 2019.

The release is meant to be comprehensive, with no redactions permitted for potential “embarrassment, reputational harm or political sensitivity” for government officials, public figures or foreign dignitaries. Redactions are allowed, however, to protect the identity of victims and prevent disruption to any active investigations or prosecutions, provided these are accompanied by written justifications.

"Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed,” Trump posted to Truth Social upon announcing that he had signed the bill. The president had previously opposed the measure, but changed course following backlash from victims and members of his party, after which it easily cleared both the House and the Senate.

The attorney general said she intended to comply with the deadline set out in the bill in a statement to ABC, but some Democrats have already drawn a connection between the early Christmas recess and the scheduled release of the files.

“Like I said: view all political developments for the rest of the week in light of the fact that the Epstein Files are supposed to be released on Friday,” New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted to X. “House Republicans just suddenly canceled Congressional session Friday and are sending everyone home Thursday evening.”
>>
What People Are Saying

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, during a joint press conference with Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel in November, said: “We're going to protect victims, and the law as written allows us to do that. You know, the law has carveouts to protect victims and to protect information surrounding victims, which is what we do, not only in this case, but in but in every case.”

California's Democratic Representative Ro Khanna, who introduced the bill in the House, posted: “Epstein files released Friday because of my & [Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie’s] Epstein Transparency Act, and House cancels session that day. Coincidence?"

Sarah Binder, a professor of political science at George Washington University and Brookings Institution senior fellow, told Newsweek: "The enacted 'Epstein Files Transparency Act' only requires that the Attorney General 'make publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format' all of the materials listed in the new law. As such, the House adjourning early would not affect the AG's ability to legally comply with the required public release of materials."

She added that there could be a "political incentive for House GOP leaders to adjourn a day earlier than previously scheduled," which would allow them to "avoid questions from national reporters in the Capitol corridors about the Epstein files tomorrow."

What Happens Next

Congress will return to session following its Christmas break on January 6.

Wasn’t Epstein File deadline Christmas?

I lol'd
>>
I still think they're gonna not release it and sue for an injunction at like midnight or something else completely fucky.
>>
>>1467062
I'm more betting they'll release "everything", but someone reviewing the documents will immediately notice missing/ altered data
Which will then lead to an investigation into a cover up/ altering and destruction of documents to protect Trump and his benefactors
Which will drag this thing out for at least another year, still making Trump look guilty as shit but keeping the slightest bit of deniability available for his supporters to grab on to
>>
>>1467040
>>1467062
>>1467066
Yeah, there's no way they're actually coming out in any meaningful way.
>>
>>1467066

Who's the fall guy then? Patel? Bondi? This is what President Nixon ran into, the buck stops there. Good luck President Trump.
>>
>>1467093
Nixon was corrupt but he wasn't nearly as evil and corrupt as trump since he'll just pardon whoever was ordered to destroy the worst parts of the list that further incriminate trump
>>
I don’t know what people expect out of this. Even the files are completely unedited and implicate Trump and Co….then what? He’s not going to just go “dang, you got me” and resign or something, and congress isn’t going to impeach him, so who cares?
Don’t get me wrong, the truth should be released, but it’s not going to actually do anything.
>>
>>1467121
It's just going to be tons of pictures of people posing together with everyone's faces blacked out except the celebrities. Doesn't prove anything other than everyone visited the island. The emails are basically dead ends. None of that can really be used in court because it lacks credibility and any decent lawyer is going to make the case of Trump blowing a horse or Bill Clinton is so absurd that none of them have any validity. Unless they have videos or pictures of the orgies or rituals, no one will care and nothing will happen
>>
>>1467126
I know Trump didn't blow a horse.
But maybe he did blow Clinton for some money?
I don't really care either way. Since my goal is to never have Democrats have a shred of power ever again. Trump could post about how he loves to fuck various animals on his social media platform, and I'd still never vote for a Democrat ever again.

Quite the own goal for you.

Yeah, the problem with my goal is that, unlike Democrats I don't have a highly organized, corporate backed propaganda network.

Hahaha holy shit who is supposed to believe this?

My point is that nothing will happen even if we do get videos and pictures.
There's already no accountability for anything. Why would this be any different?

>>
>>1467152
If you don't want Democrats to hold power again, the best way is to grow a FUCKING SPINE and impeach Trump and Vance. Do it quickly enough, and you'll get Mike Johnson in as President instead. He can then stabilise the currently sinking ship, have his first presidential term for the next three years, then win the race in '28 on the back of how he put America before party politics.
>>
>>1467263
Well, Newsweek bullshitting and OP bullshitting by proxy. Newsweek is reporting on what Fags on Faceberg are saying along with unscrupulous Democrat politicians.
TOday is THE Day. Epstein files are to be released. So this was literally just a random hip check.
>>
>>1467264
>If you don't want Democrats to hold power again, the best way is to grow a FUCKING SPINE and impeach Trump and Vance.
How does this help? Have you seen what Republicans were doing before Trump?
Jeez man, it'll be just like voting for Democrats.
>>
>>1467266
>Have you seen what Republicans were doing before Trump?
Starting wars on "terror" to go after "WMDs" in oil rich, cash poor countries. Like Trump is doing now.
>>
>>1467286
To be fair, this time it's for the US and not Israel, we'l actually keep the oil for us instead of giving it to Kuwait, and there won't be a war.
>>
>>1467290
>Anything Trump does being for the US and not Israel
You cannot afford to be this naive
>>
Aaaaaand Trump's team just announced they aren't releasing the files despite being legally required to do so today
It's almost like they never had any intention of obeying this law, House Republicans knew it, and they're hoping people forget about this before they come back from break
>>
>>1467318
>Aaaaaand Trump's team just announced they aren't releasing the files despite being legally required to do so today
Even before now there were Trump voters who held him to his campaign policy word last year about releasing the Epstein Files. The only thing that makes Trump think others will forget is his own senility.
Congrats Trumpy. You've just guaranteed the Midterm Massacre will be upgraded to Electoral Evisceration: and that's just 2026, certainly what'll happen in late 2028. Not even they will pardon this lame duck a l'orange it becomes at Thanksgiving next year.

“I expect that we’re going to release more documents over the next couple of weeks, so today several hundred thousand and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more,” Blanche said. “There’s a lot of eyes looking at these and we want to make sure that when we do produce the materials we are producing, that we are protecting every single victim.”

Quit trying to campaign with this. No one believes you..
>>
>>1467325
Retard, they were supposed to release ALL OF THEM today. This wasn't a point of debate; it was literally explicitly in the order that every document releases today with no exceptions. The DOJ is breaking the law.
>>
>the midterms
>what has happened before then

Which is why less will vote for the GOP. And those three letters alone are one reason why: Gang Of Pedophiles.

It's sad how little the people you worship think of you, and how you continue to prove them right
>>
>>1467329
So, your poopooganda campaign is working again, and you're fooling people again?
I give it like 8-12 years before the fence post sitter faggots arm up and drag all Democrats into the street and execute them.
Because, here's what's going to happen:
You're going to win
You're going to fuck things up again
And the timeline between fuck ups will be so short you won't have time to revise history.
>>
>>1467334
>I give it like 8-12 years before the fence post sitter faggots arm up and drag all Democrats into the street and execute them.
You've literally been saying this for 20+ years
>>
>>1467326
>we are protecting every single victim.”
Form the looks of it, you'll have tens of thousands of documents to comb though looking for the one that gets dRumpf.
And doing it this way ensures it's not a one and done thing. So you get to complain now, then for multiple weeks.
So, I'm not sure what you're complaining about here. This works out best for dummycraps.
>>
>>1467338
Motherfucker obey the literally nigh-unanimous order from the House or be impeached. We're not playing games here; disobeying this is grounds for removal.
>>
>>1467340
Wow, you just literally don't want to protect the victims (which also must legally be done).
>>
>>1467342
It's an excuse to cover up the FACT that Trump is in those files and the US is currently being lead by a pedophile, and you fucking know it.
>>
All I need to do is sit back and eat popcorn while >>1467334 the shit-eating poopcorn-swallowing faggot executes his own opoopinions.
You've already lost.
You've already fucked things up
You're already history.
>>
>>1467342
The law that Trump himself signed (against his will due to a veto proof majority compelling him to do so) says the names of victims were to be redacted and the files delivered by the Trump DOJ today
The Trump DOJ has announced they will not be honoring this deadline and violating that law
There is no cope you can fabricate will change any of these facts
Maybe if Trump had just released the files like every notable member of his administration campaigned on to begin with he wouldn't be in this situation
But instead he chose to stall and delay the release at every step, up to and now including violation of United States law
>>
>>1467346
You can't shame the shill today, they've gotten their distraction thrown at them >>1467105 and they're happily complaining about tranny's as they've been programmed to do
>>
>>1467345
You're going to be disappointed again.
>>1467353
>Maybe if Trump had just released the files like every notable member of his administration campaigned on to begin with he wouldn't be in this situation
I never even cared about the Epstein files and I don't remember anyone campaigning on it.
And at this point if there were anything in them, it would've been leaked long ago because it's not as if these files are sealed, vaulted and off limits to Democrats or anything.
They already know what's in them and if it's not hitting the new already it doesn't exist.
And there's nothing. No leaks from the Rep shills about Dems and no leaks from the Dem shills about dRumpf.
Complaining about them not being released is the best you get.
>>
Democrats have been leaking this shit non stop. They have absolutely nothing. The Epstein list is just the Democrat version of two more weeks. They will have to actually admit they have no policy besides being the opposite of Trump after nothing comes of this
>>
>>1467389
>You're going to be disappointed again.
Amazing how you think Trump isn't incriminated when releasing them would've literally absolved him if he wasn't.
>>
>>1467404
Remember when WSJ ran a story about a love letter Trump sent Epstein for his birthday, Trump said the letter didn't exist and sued them for ten billion dollars, you and the rest of MIGA jerked yourselves off for a week about it, then the letter got released by the House Oversight Committee proving that Trump straight up lied to the American people about it?
>>
>>1467404
>heh, the dems are clutching at straws
>that's why instead of releasing the list that absolves trump and btfos them forever, we need to buy as much time as possible and redact enough info as possible from them after we got caught already denying they exist
>>
>>1467405
They're being released last I heard. Just not on time. So enjoy complaining about it while you can is all I'm saying.
>>
Republicans have been shitting themselves non stop. MAGAts are absolutely nothing. Releasing of the Epstein list in two weeks. Or not. By not releasing such before now they actually admit that they & Trump are on that list, and everyone else will be coming for them in the midterms & late 2028.
Copium is the best cultists will get.
>>
>>1467412
They were under legal obligation to release them at once. No fucking staggered release; they already lost the right to do that when the house had to force them to release.
>>
>>1467416
You won't do shit.
>>
>>1467412
>Yes they're openly breaking federal law by not releasing these documents on time, but it's okay because they pinky promise to release them at some unspecified later date
You are not a serious person
>>
>>1467417
How's impeachment sound? You really think EVERY republican in the house is fine with losing all the power of their branch like this? They already went rogue on the original vote; you think they won't at least kick Bondi to the curb over this?
>>
>>1467416
>>1467418
It's not my fault.
This idiot has the right idea >>1467413
I don't know why you're trying to debate me. I'm just pointing out there was a legal obligation to protect the victims that takes precedence over releasing documents that don't have the key to finally getting Trump.
Sorry. Damn.
>>
>>1467420
>How's impeachment sound?
And then what? He gets replaced by someone compromised by both jews and jeets?

Nobody would vote for another Republican if that happened. And Republicans aren't going to risk destroying Israel via total disclosure. So these files obviously aren't going to be released in totality.
>>
>>1467421
>I'm just pointing out there was a legal obligation to protect the victims that takes precedence over releasing documents that don't have the key to finally getting Trump.
They were literally announcing they'd release these same files over a year ago. A year later, and with all the federal resources they have, they can't be fucked to redact just the victims names in time for their fucking due date?
>>
>>1466992
Elise Stefanik, another Trump fanatic, just announced she isn't running for reelection. Another rat realizing the ship is going down and she needs to clean hands.
>>
>>1467496
Nah, she probably keeps getting death threats from Demotroons.
>>
>>1467503
Then she's a coward lmao.
>>
>>1467503
So are you the designated paid MIGApedo derailment shill assigned to this thread?
>>
>>1467427
>someone compromised by both jews and jeets?
Hey, it's your fault Trump was elected again. You voted for what you didn't like, so it's more than impossible for any Democrat president to do any worse than Trump the white rightards' Race Traitor-in-Chief.
