it's just a consequence of capitalism, and trump is trying to speed the system up. employers don't want to hire new workers and they want to automate the roles of old workers to avoid spending money on labour. the tariffs give money to the rich and milk out money from the poor. this wouldn't be better under any other party, trump is just using government interventions to speed up the inevitable. i'm surprised americans haven't attempted to overthrow the government yet. it's the only way to get out at this point.
