The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who led the Civil Rights Movement for decades after King, has died at 84

CHICAGO (AP) — The Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, a protege of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and two-time presidential candidate who led the Civil Rights Movement for decades after the revered leader’s assassination, died Tuesday. He was 84.

As a young organizer in Chicago, Jackson was called to meet with King at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, shortly before King was killed, and he publicly positioned himself thereafter as King’s successor.

Santita Jackson confirmed that her father, who had a rare neurological disorder, died at home in Chicago, surrounded by family.

LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR OF BLACK PEOPLE
>>

What was his "rare neurological disorder"?
Did he die of TDS? Can't be it, that's fairly common
>>
>>1490349
Kek.
Nice one
>>
>>1490349
The only cure to “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is to impeach Trump. Trump makes that VERY easy…
>>
>>1490351
Damn. If only they had been in time to save Jesse.
Why do Democrats hate black people so much
>>
I remember as a kid being told Jesse Jackson was the lowest of the low scum of the earth by all of the grown ups in my life, and took that to heart.
But as I got older, I realized no one had ever actually told me what he had said or done that was so much more egregious than your standard politician.
So why he bring out so much anger in older white people I knew growing up? Can't be the infidelity, those same older white people worship the current Philanderer in Chief. Being opportunistic in his messaging? That's practically a requirement of politics.
So why so much hate for him in particular?
>>
>>1490357
He really didn't do anything. He was a big mouth when there were a lot of big mouthed blacks. He was "civil-rights-adjacent" but never put himself in any danger. He always got paid.

I got him confused with Reggie Jackson all the time.
>>
>>1490363
What politician puts himself in danger?
Also wasn't he standing next to MLK on the balcony when he got shot?
>>
I'm convinced they killed him so that Will Smith's career can make a comeback before he gets too old.

In less than 3 years Will Smith will play Jesse Jackson in a documentary about his life and it will win an Oscar and Will Smith will give a tearful acceptance speech and all the (((Hollywood))) storylines will be about his redemption arc from that time he assaulted Chris rock
>>
>>1490357
He used an anti semitic slur to say that New York City was run by Jews. That's why the media turned against him
>>
Fascinating how election tourists virtue signal over charlie kirk but then trash everyone who dies who isn't part of the club.
>>
>>1490366
Well I guess he was right about one thing
>>
>>1490346
Good riddance and RIP, hopefully regardless that he made the world a far worse place with his grifting presence. And he set blacks back at least 200 years.
I shall play "Celebrate" from Kool and the Gang.

>>1490376
Yes, he was right about "Hymie Town."
Eddie Murphy's SNL spoof of it was perfect.
>>
>>1490372
Charlie Kirk should have been left to live his life, but he was a piece of shit too.
>>
>>1490372
Dying of old age/disease at 84 isn't the same as being assassinated at 30. You're muddying the waters for some reason. This isn't a Kirk thread.

Rest in Power Mr. Jackson. You helped shape modern America like few others did.

Anon...

It’s Anons like that that make me wonder how many requests to delete this board m00t gets a day!

Good.
>>
Dying of natural causes/old age simply proves that he didn't make a difference.

>Also wasn't he standing next to MLK on the balcony when he got shot?

I feel like there was some contention about this but don't remember.
>>
>>1490398
the dude was a podcaster and went to colleges to argue with students, he was shot not assassinated.
>>
Jesse Jackson was MLKs protege
Obama was Jackson's protege
I'd keep an eye on anyone Obama passes the mantle to, they will be our leader one day
>>
>>1490435
Looks like nobody’s left… ::sad face::
>>
>>1490450
Oh there's plenty left. Id keep an eye on what Obama says about Pritzker this next cycle, theyre both Chicago politicians.
I expect some black politician from Wisconsin or Michigan or perhaps North Carolina to be officially passed the mantle, but it might not be this next cycle. Depends on how badly trump's final term screws republicans in 2028. If it comes out trump was diddling kids, I predict a full 2 presidential/incumbent cycles 16 years going for the Dems if they can find the right men for the job. If trump wasn't then it'll be 4-8 years probably before it's a fair race again. Trump legacy is going to cut the Republicans two ways: first trump's himself, and second no one else is trump.

Nah I posted the joke but not the kek.
I didn't think it was worth an entire reply.
And if the original wasn't, imagine what I think of your post and this reply I'm writing now. Utter waste of everyone's life, but, here we are, spending the only life we get, doing this.

Quiet Dorothy. Dead people aren't interchangeable. This old man died in his sleep.
>>
>>1490394
Jesse Jackson made America a far more racist place.
