Today’s jobs report was overwhelmingly disappointing — there’s no other way to say it. While economists expected the economy to add 50,000 jobs in February, today’s release shows we lost 92,000 jobs instead.

At the same time, the unemployment rate edged higher as jobs declined across key areas.

For policymakers at the Federal Reserve, the outlook got far more complicated as they head into their mid-March meeting. Inflation remains stubbornly above the Fed’s 2% goal, but the labor market may be moving from merely bent to genuinely broken.

Even more concerning, the February data does not take the evolving war with Iran into account.

Today’s data show that the labor market has averaged essentially zero net job creation over the past six months. This is concerning because when an economy stops creating jobs, it’s often not long before it starts losing them.

Distract from what?
We're also aware of Trump destabilizing the Middle East, driving up oil prices, and having his government cover up the fact that he raped children. His crashing the economy and single-handedly causing a recession would barely be a blip if it weren't hurting so many people.

QATAR WARNS ALL GULF PRODUCTION COULD STOP WITHIN DAYS

Oil prices have jumped after Qatar's energy minister warned he expects all oil and gas exporters in the Gulf to stop production within days.

$150 a barrel incoming!!! Good thing Barron bought all that oil days before the invasion became public. Insider info for the win!

The "all items" consumer price indices incorporate price information for a wide range of goods and services. From March 2025, the process for aggregating this detailed information has changed. This is a necessary step towards incorporating larger and more detailed datasets into the indices.

Goods and services are allocated into "consumption segments" for different categories of expenditure. In some cases, these consumption segments correspond precisely to specific "items" for which we track prices over time. However, in cases where more comprehensive source data are available, or expected to be available in the future, a consumption segment will typically include much more than just one item.

Don't forget this cost him one of the few, if not only, unanimously praised parts of his admin; the low gas prices. Shit spiked overnight and is likely gonna take at least a year to go back down, so now the only meaningful achievement he had is fucking gone.
>>
>>1494947
>likely gonna take at least a year to go back down

Don't count on it. The Gulf is shutting down oil production
>>
>>1494953
Note how I said "at least". I fully expect this to fuck us for years to come, but even if Trump somehow gets a brain or is replaced by someone who does, we're still fucked until at least after midterms.
>>
>>1494953
>>1494955
The US has its own domestic oil production that a lot of the EU refuses to buy because they'd have to pay first world prices. Our enemies shutting down oil production is good for us. It forces people to beg the US for energy deals and drives up the price of all the oil that the US keeps in reserve. Yes, it'll mean that you have to pay more for gas for awhile, but you are not the country, what's good for you isn't always good for the country.

Do you realize that we're all dependent on this complex system of systems to survive? Its all well and good to bitch about billionaires, but if the US doesn't remain in control of the world's energy markets in perpetuity we're going to end up as a giant Venezuela, fighting over scraps while the world passes us by and our allies laugh at our misfortune.

Its better this way than the alternative. If you want more for yourself, be less of a faggot and more of a contributor.

Trust the plan. Things will get hard, but we knew that going in. There will be a lot of pain to rebuild the economy that BIDEN and 40 years of leftist rule have reeked. On the bright side, we will have many libcuck tear compilations on /pol/ for years over this.
>>
>>1494989
Just to tell you how poorly thought out this kerfuffle with Iran is, Trump didn't even bother to refill the strategic reserve leading up to the war. He could have been quietly buying up oil when it was cheap as hell and stockpiling extra military gear, but nope. We rolled into this without a war cache, and now the price of oil is going up as our high-tech munitions are exhausted.
>>
>>1494991
>>1494991
Retard. He had to go in. Iran was weeks away from nukes. There was no time to prepare. Biden left the cubbards BARE by giving away all are stuff to the Ukraine to squander in their ridiculous war against based Putin.

The reserves are full and the munitions stockpiles aren't anywhere near exhausted, we've got a missile for every thirdie on this planet and then some. I hope you're ready to have America's boot up your ass, because that's where its going. First Iran, next China, then the world.
>>
>>1494993
Trump knows how to use nukes and will use them. He is the strongest president in the history of America. The world will learn to fear the eagle again. This will be rettribution for decades of humilation and fleecing. This is retribution for what the leftist did to our reich 80 years ago. Iran, Canada, Greenland, Mexico, and China should all be watching out because there will be mushroom clouds above their cities if they don't learn their place.

But in that scenario gas prices stay up, forever. So you're basically telling me "No no, but the government is making a lot of money, so it's fine you can't afford gas." to which I say, fuck off, I want to be able to drive to work.

The cope right now is that they're opposed to stupid, woke wars. Wars where you kill everyone, take their shit, and paint the map with your color is based. Gas prices and the prices of everything else will go up and stay up.

Wages will be flat. You'll be lucky to have a job and live 30 to a house like Indian's do.

Everytime the rise the job numbers for the previous months it goes down. The revised jobs for 2025 went from 138,000 to 111,000 in the most recent report.

So basically no jobs have been created in the past 6 months!
>>
>>1494822
Those jobs weren't lost. AI created 1000x the economic value of employees. This is just temporary. As humans adopt AI and evolve to become Homo AI we will see unprecedented growth. The Dow will be 500+K within five years. Face it. AI is the future.

>>
>>1495224
So why is it when Donald Trump had bad job numbers or other bad economic indicators during his first year it was Trump's fault, and not a delayed reaction to Biden's policies?
>>
>>1495227
Cause I'm a huge fucking fag
>>
>>1495227
By your logic then Bidens hyper-inflation wasn't his fault and was a delayed reaction to the massive printing of money he did during covid
>>
>>1495230
No, according to your logic >>1495224
You are saying Trump had such low inflation because it was a delayed reaction
>>
>>1495227
Because supply chain issues take a while to manifest price changes. Manually driving up the price of every fucking import overnight through tariffs manifests very fucking quickly.
>>
>>1494823
This is a naive take. Yes, capitalism follows cyclical boom-bust cycles. During each cycle though, wealth consolidates more than the last, and productive capability gets outsourced more to the third world. This eventually reaches a point where the nation is entirely comprised of people who serve rather than produce, and capitalists who extract rent rather than develop. It is a nation that is incapable of producing for itself, defending its colonies, or projecting its power. The bust is not followed by a boom, but by humiliation.
Hard to say if it will be this cycle that's the final one, but the point is that you can't treat each cycle as equivalent to the last.
>>1494822
Yeah, we're already in an economic crisis, it's just gonna take a bit for the markets to catch up. There's a ton of credit that the market has to burn through first.
>>
>>1495224
Don't think you can persuade the MAGA pedos, they're brainwashed to think everything is everyone but trump's fault. Facts be damned.

Honestly I'm ready to impeach this dude.
It's so disheartening that the only alternatives are radical Dems.

Why the fuck can't democrats or Republicans just have normal fucking people that don't try to give special gibs to all their favorite identity groups like whites/Jews/blacks/troons/gays etc and just be normal fucking reasonable people.

For fucks sake, the Republican mainstream is just about full steam MIGA mode and their "conservative" fiscal policy is all about huge tax cuts and effectively meaningless budget cuts, and the Democrat mainstream is all about letting in swarms of illegals and wanting children to troon out, and catering to hobos and drug users more than normal working folk

I'm going to be honest here. Trump's had a handful of policies that I thought were genuinely positive, such as his EOs on nuclear energy reform, or increased border security, or his policies on combatting drug smuggling, but for every decent policy he has another 5 shit ones, like ice deporting normal fucking working people without criminal histories, or his crypto scamming, his Israel cock gobbling...

Enough is enough of this dude, I want off this ride
>>
>>1495235
>radical Dems.
What radical dems? They're as corporatist and centrist as they ever were.
>>
>>1495235
I'll take radical dems over this bullshit any day, drump has done pretty much all the things he used to criticize them for but 10x worse. Inflation, huge tax increase (via tariffs) raising the price of everything, started a war in the middle east & threatening more wars, censorship and media control, more EOs in the first year of his second term than the entire 8 years of Obama.
He literally could have done absolutely nothing except fart around golfing the entire past year and the country would be infinitely better off and he'd get credit for it, but he's a malignant narcissist facing his own mortality and determined to take the whole world down with him. Even with a war going on and gas prices skyrocketing he's still going full steam ahead with more fucking tariffs. You can't make this shit up.
>>
>>1495240
You would've taken the radical Dems anyway
>>
>>1495240
>Inflation
I disagree on this point, his inflation rate in 2025 was 2.4%.
It was lower than every year under Biden, and not even half a percent above fed target
There's plenty of things to complain about with Trump like his middle east shit that you mentioned but honestly inflation isn't really one unless if you just want to argue that tariffs are the only reason it's 2.4% and not 2.0%, which is a pretty lame argument
