Anonymous Automatic registration for US (...) 04/09/26(Thu)08:41:25 No. 1504647 https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5822914-automatic-registration-military-draft/ Eligible men will automatically be registered into the military draft pool by December as part of an effort to streamline the previous process of self-registration and save money. The Selective Service System (SSS) — the government agency that maintains a database of men to be called up to serve in the case of a national emergency — submitted a proposed rule to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on March 30, according to the office’s website. Most men between the ages of 18 and 25 are already required to register with the Selective Service, but automatic registration was mandated in December 2025 as part of the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act. The change, which was meant to save money, “transfers responsibility for registration from individual men to SSS through integration with federal data sources,” according to the website. The proposed rule is currently under review by the regulatory affairs office and awaiting finalization. The U.S. has not had a draft since the Vietnam War, with military service being voluntary since 1973. But former President Jimmy Carter in 1980 reinstated the Selective Service in the event of a “national emergency,” where the registry could be used to “provide personnel to the Department of War and alternative service for conscientious objectors, if authorized by the President and Congress.” Many have questioned whether a U.S. military draft could take place amid the war in Iran, which is currently in a tenuous two-week ceasefire. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt in March said that while a draft is “not part of the current plan right now,” President Trump “wisely keeps his options on the table.” >>
Anonymous 04/09/26(Thu)08:42:04 No. 1504648 Trump alone cannot bring back the draft through executive action, as Congress would need to pass legislation to amend the Military Selective Service Act to authorize the president to induct personnel into the military. Still, failure to register in the draft is considered a crime and can prevent people from receiving state-funded financial aid and employment in numerous states, cause ineligibility for many federal employment opportunities and job training under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and can carry a fine of up to $250,000 and jail time for up to five years. In addition, immigrants who don’t register may lose their U.S. citizenship. Under the new rule, men will be registered automatically within 30 days of their 18th birthdays. Women are still ineligible for the draft, even as lawmakers in the past few years have attempted to attach provisions adding women to the draft as part of the annual defense policy bill. The measures have all been stripped out before a final vote on the legislation. >>

Anonymous 04/09/26(Thu)14:25:03 No. 1504696 Non-Americans are laughing at Americans about this but they don't understand the context. All men in America are legally required to register with the Selective Service once they turn 18. If you don't do it by their 26th birthday they're guilty of a felony, prohibited from receiving federal aid and banned from all future government jobs. >>

Anonymous 04/10/26(Fri)07:52:52 No. 1505018 >>1505015 I think this is the actual purpose of the Flock cameras, all along. If they need boots on the ground in Iran, there isn't going to be any zoomer breaking his arm to escape it or just not registering, they're going to get abducted just like in Ukraine when they pull over for gas one day. The changes are the fact we allowed flock cameras and facial recognition installed in all public facing cameras in the first place.>>

You'll start to run but then someone will hit you so hard in the head with a hammer that you see stars. By the time you come to, you'll have a Military Sergeant screaming drills at you while telling you how lucky you should feel to be ready to invade China. There is no 'who tf wants this' they do. You are their cattle. You are not a citizen, you are a serf.>>
Anonymous 04/10/26(Fri)12:08:30 No. 1505046 >>1505017 >What's more infuriating is SCOTUS has the power to just bypass Congress and the Senate. They don't. Even with the current rulings being biased (you can argue that), Congress can simply pass a new law that covers the conditions that the SCOTUS sets forth AND propose amendments to the US Constitution that enshrine the provisions. The problem we have today is that part of the 3 leg stool is missing - Congress is effectively beholden to the executive branch out of political fear. So the SCOTUS can deliver rulings and there is no check on that power. This isn't an issue with the check and balance part of process, it's with the participants.>>
Anonymous 04/11/26(Sat)06:33:04 No. 1505219 >>1505046 >Congress can simply pass a new law that covers the conditions that the SCOTUS sets forth AND propose amendments to the US Constitution that enshrine the provisions. Scotus has the ability to over rule Congress when it wants to. The only thing stopping them is the threat of the court being packed, which has kept scotus in line for decades.
