The Americans broke the ceasefire by blockading Iranian ports. Blockades are acts of war, always have been, everyone knows this. The Americans by not observing the ceasefire have given the Iranians the right to enforce their own blockade, as per the ancient and agreed upon etiquettes of war

See Gaza, the first ceasefire with Hezbollah, then the ceasefire with Iran which the Israelis refused to observe in Lebanon and the Americans broke with their blockade of Iranian ports, and now the new ceasefire with Lebanon. These ceasefire violations are being massively underreported, even by independent media, these are serious matters in war

So apparently that tweet Trump made over Easter about destroying the civilization, the famous tweet, well apparently Trump did not notify the military command that he was making an ultimatum like that. It was never a serious threat because the military aren’t prepared for or going to follow that order. The Iranians have made it clear they don’t care if they get bombed they’re keeping the blockade going, so the question for Trump is will he stop the US blockade and agree with the Iranians to allow the strait to be open, and the Iranians will charge their tolls, or does Trump have another way to stop Iran from blockading the strait that isn’t civilizational genocide?
