- A broader measure that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons rose to 8.2%, up 0.2 percentage point.

- The so-called real unemployment rate jumped in large part to a surge in those employed part time for economic reasons, often referred to as unemployed. The level rose by 445,000 to 4.9 million.

- Average hourly earnings, another closely watched metric of labor market health, came in lower than expected, increasing 0.2% for the month and 3.6% on an annual basis, compared with respective estimates for 0.3% and 3.8%.

- April also saw another drop in the labor force and a decline in tech-related jobs in the low-hire low-fire environment that has prevailed since the early part of 2025.

- Revisions from prior reports were mixed: The February number moved even lower, down by 23,000 to a loss of 156,000. The initial report put the February job loss at 92,000.

- Economists increasingly have pointed to slower hiring as the primary source of labor market cooling. Sentiment indicators show tepid hiring plans in both the manufacturing and services sectors.

Why Shareblue shills so stupid? They actually thinks Trump are not greatest president!
>>
>>1513011
This isn't about Trump its about his abyssmal economy. Why is he refusing to pull the levers to lower gas and grocery prices?!?!
>>
>>1513017
You are is commie woke shill. Sad!
>>
>>1513019
What?
>>
>>1513007
Suicide rate for white farmers is way up. Things are bleak
>>
>>1513040
Yes everyone is losing their jobs but the stock market is doing better than ever. Have you even said thank you?
>>
Short term pain for long term gain. Yes things are rough, but a bright future awaits us. Tariffs and the defeat of Iran are both passages towards an economic golden age. Once we win this war, which we have pretty much already done, we are gonna be so fucking rich you won't even know what you'll spend all the money on
>>
>>1513046
you're literally not american

Sometimes you need some hard times to Build Back Better
>>
>>1513049
What the fuck are you talking about
There's no economist advocating for "trickle down economics"
There is no politician who says "Vote for me and I'll implement trickle down economics"
You are talking with a straw man who exists entirely in your head
>>
>>1513052
>Well they don't CALL it trickle-down economics, so it's not!
>>
>>1513050
Yeah this isn't that. Its psychopathic billionaires looting us all for their own personal gain.
>>
>>1513041
This is exactly this issues. We’ve been tricked into thinking the “economy” is the stock market. The stock market is where the rich make their money. And if you think “retirement plans” are any form of wealth for the middle class, they are more like mandatory bags that get filled then emptied by the rich when the market has a downturn.

A healthy economy should include available jobs that have good work life balance, fair wages, and opportunity. Not whatever the fuck it is we have now, just slavery by another name.
>>
>>1513081
Which billionaires are looting "us" and give examples please
>>
>>1513091
they seem to have looted you of your dignity, for starters, esl shill
>>
>>1513092
So basically you're just a retarded jeet that can only repeat the same insults

esl shill loves projecting doesn't he

Are we just going to ignore oil companies making record profits off the Iran war? Oil prices at record highs and all that extra cost is just disappearing into thin air? Really?

Gave me a chuckle. God damn you people are stupid.

OK then you're simply wrong.
Thanks for conceeding so easily.

People can no longer afford health insurance because of the Big Beautiful Bill
>>
>>1513142
Not true at all. The subsidies exist because of the ACA bill which spiked health insurance pricing.
>>
>>1513144
My healthcare before the BBB was $125/month and now it’d cost me $390/month thanks to Trump.
Healthcare before Obama was health insurance companies charging astronomical prices and being allowed to deny people based on preexisting conditions
>>
>>1513007
>slower hiring as the primary source of labor market cooling
And before that they were mostly hiring foreigners and affirmative action hires. Any proposed solution to this problem will most likely center around whether to pull the immigrant lever yet again, with no acknowledgement of the millions of actual, qualified Americans that are left in desolation for no justified reason and are no longer factored into unemployment statistics due to their fixation on recency.
>>
>>1513158
I was never able to afford health insurance and o'niggercare charged my family a penalty for it, roughly half the amount of our respective tax refunds every year. It was a penalty for being poor and not fulfilling the ACA mandate to guarantee profits for private insurance companies.
>>
>>1513179
lol before ACA you wouldn't have gotten healthcare at all. They would've written you off as too risky and denied you any insurance.
>>
>>1513183
You're obviously speaking far ahead of your actual knowledge with regard to a stranger's circumstances, but suffice it to say the ACA actively damaged my livelihood despite being part of the "lower income" group that medication-obsessed hypocrites in your uniparty acted like they were helping out by enacting it.
>>
>>1513184
Retards like you love forgetting that before ACA private insurance companies just straight up had conditions that were instant death sentences despite being very treatable because they didn't want to inevitably pay out on them.
>>
>>1513188
What are you talking about?
>>
Republicans came up with the idea of an individual mandate, you know. They just turned against it because it was politically expedient.
>>
>>1513193
And they didn't vote for it, unlike Democrats.
You believe Democrats are powerless and being misled, but still want them in power?
Are you like a retarded person?
>>
>>1513196
Personally I think they had it right the first time.
>>
>>1513179
I didn’t start paying for health insurance until 2021. I never had to pay a penalty. You have to be making a lot of money each year before you start getting penalized
>>
>>1513199
>2021
>Mandate was removed in 2017
Why weren't you charged?
Personally I lost my job and was unemployed for 7 months and Obama decided he needed $500 of my tax return more than I did.
Additionally, the only states who revived the individual mandate (for their state's residents) are run by Democrats.
So, how do you plan to spin this?
>>
>>1513207
>what is a hardship exemption
It's kinda late to say yours was rejected. That would be at the top of my mind.
>>
>>1513210
Loss of employement was never a valid excuse unless you were facing bankruptcy.
Why should I have to beg the government for my money though?
And nice spin attempt. Making me out to be inept and responsible for the theft was a nice try.
>>
>>1513211
It's either that or the affordability exemption I guess.
>inept
Well it's not SUPPOSED to be cheaper to pay the fine in the first place. Something went wrong. All I can say is it works on my machine.
>>
>>1513214
It actually was since COBRA is insane.
ACA isn't much better without a subsidy though.
Can liggerals do something about the base priceof insurance without pushing money to the billionaire healthcare scammers?
No, they cannot. That's why they donate to the Democrats, to ensure their profits.
>>
>>1513215
Calling them liggerals kills any authenticity you might have, you know. I don't think you even know what a liberal is.
>>
>>1513222
It has nothing to do with the term they've adopted from Rush Limbaugh decades ago.
And I do know what a liberal is, that's why I'm making the distrinction.
A liggeral believes it's a liberal, when it's actually a tool of neoliberal capital demoralized and too stupid to realize it.
There's nothing liberal about modern "liberals".
>>
>>1513222
>alt right, far right, white nationalists, racists, hillbillies, rednecks, flyovers, etc.
MOM! He's name calling!!!!
>>
>>1513007
its the democrats to blame, they should have their possessions confiscated and their citizenships revoked as compensation.
>>
>>1513017
time to ban cars from blue states, gas will be cheaper when most blue state cunts are forced to walk
>>
I’m here to remind you that it’s trump, his administration, and his cronies in congress that are calling the economic shots right now.
>>
>>1513096
So when oil companies were making record profits off the Ukraine war, that was psychopathic billionaires looting us all for their own personal gain?
>>
>>1513096
>Are we just going to ignore oil companies making record profits off the Iran war?
The funny thing is they aren't really; because a decent chunk of THEIR oil is also locked up in the strait, they're being forced to increase prices just to make up for it. There's a few companies making a bit more bank, but records aren't quite being broken yet and they're losing massive amounts of money for all the oil and ships stuck there.
>>
>>1513339
Yes.
>>
>>1513344
BP Q1 profits were double what they reported Q1 last year you mongoloid. They are absolutely profiting off this war
>>
>>1513188
One more reason not to give them guaranteed profits through a federal mandate. You're probably too smart to see that side of it though.
>>
>>1513199
>You have to be making a lot of money each year before you start getting penalized
That was not the case for the first couple of years of the ACA.
>>
>>1513088
>Not whatever the fuck it is we have now, just slavery by another name.
