I think it’s because the Iranians are simply not going to accept any promises, any of this phased in stuff, because they can see how that went in Gaza. The Americans cannot be trusted to keep their word on anything, they will try to get Iran to commit to stipulations that cannot be easily reneged on like giving up their nuclear dust, meanwhile the Americans will promise to lift sanctions and stop Israel from bombing Lebanon but slowly. The Americans are bad faith actors now and Iran don’t need the ceasefire if they are only going back to the status quo, they need more than that and they need it to be difficult for the US to launch further future attacks against them. Last thought is it is in America’s interest for this conflict to end sooner rather than later mostly due to domestic economic concerns as it seems the US no longer cares about their diplomatic reputation
