the most effective way to get "people" to slow down

I accelerate when I see this, kinda like jumping a curb in a bike.

Citroen DS. Designed to not give a fuck.
>>

Anything with 5 inch+ sidewalls doesn't give a fuck, not to mention long travel suspension. I'm looking for a malaise barge for this exact purpose, to sail over speedbumps like they were never even installed
>>
>>28594237
Doesn't work
>t. there's a speed bump in front of my shop that I watch brownoids crash and bang over all day every day
>>
>>28594278
Scrawpy noises are fun at times.
My thing loses handling points specifically to deal with "traffic calming measures". She floats just enough.
>>
*DA DUNK*
ah fuck
>>
>>28594278
I'm cool with brownoids trashing their cars too. I'll take it as an acceptable second best to them slowing down
>>
>>28594243
>I accelerate when I see this, kinda like jumping a curb in a bike.
I do too. The fact I blow out my front struts every two years is a testament that I should probably stop or install a racing suspension, but I don't really give a shit. Struts are cheap.

i use to work someplace that had these every 10 feet except they were 2x more aggressive
brotrucks would just fly through them
even delivery trucks, you could hear every box in the back go DA DUNK (mind you it was a manufacturing facility so parts were being brought in and out constantly)

everyone else was forced to crawl at 5 mph for half a mile of this hell. TWICE a day if you have to leave to get lunch
i think some powertripping part time HOA cunt went crazy and had all that shit installed, it was bizarrely anti-car
>>
I fucking hate speed bumps.

traffic calming designs are one thing the europoors do that i think we should adopt in Australia.
>>
>>28594264
Get a Jimny.
>>
>>28594412
You could get a BMW GS and dunk on those speed bumps.
>>
>>28594445
not him but I've got a jimny with bigger tyres than stock
Taking speed bumps in that thing at speed is awful, the wheelbase is too short
>>
>>28594237
The most effective way to overtake slow fucks if you're riding a motorcycle*
>>
>>28594450
What about taking it at a slightly higher speed?
>>
In my outback the faster I go the less I feel them.
>>
>>28594237
Pointless, I gun it up the speed bump then slam on the brakes and screech the tires to make myself as much of a nuisance as possible. Then I gun it again after clearing the speed bump.
>>
>>28594357
you cant be serious

Dead serious. My car is solidly in shitbox territory and I abuse it harder the older it gets.
>>
>>28596022
this is bait
>>
>>28594412
It sounds like you live in my area, there's a spot on the edge of my town with like 7 fucking speed bumps in a row.
>>
>>28594237
I drive a crossover, I go over bigger ones than these at normal speeds and don't give a fuck. These purely punish sedans and other vehicles low to the ground.

i fucking cant wait to try my old barge with 70 profile tyres on pic related in my work's parking lot
>>28596173
the irony is the people that bitch about these in late model sedans and hatches were probably the same people that wanted manufacturers to make cars with 19-20 inch rims with 40 profile tyres or smaller because when they take it to school or work, it's gotta be SPORTY

they put this gay shit infront of my place and i just pried them out.
however I made the mistake of not taking them and some fat retard put them back in place but the're like in 2 ft sections like >>28596367
so they start shuffling about over time and I imagine this same fatass keeps setting them back.
>>
>>28594237
Maybe the people who aren't maniacs, I have seen frenetic looking women come flying over those things at such speed the car catches air because they're so damn aggressive.
>>
>>28594264
I do that on 225/45s with short travel suspension
Don't give a fuck unless I'm scraping it with my low hanging bumper
>>
>>28594440
>traffic calming
It's called "better planning"
Don't make people drive slow for long, build faster roads and provide access to them
>>
>>28596106
Busrider mind cannot comprehend
>>
>>28596367
I feel like the effect of high profile tyres is overrated. What you need is good suspension. 70R15 tyres won’t help you if the suspension is made out of wood like in early Model 3/Y Tesla’s.
Yes low profile tyres are a meme but it’s mostly because they can’t survive potholes. For speedbumps it doesn’t really matter whether it’s high or low profile.
>>
>>28598902
Can confirm. We have a ford five hundred that glides over speed bumps like a cloud even with its thinner sidewalls. I still get meatier tires whenever I can just to prevent rampant urban neglect from damaging my wheels
>>
>>28594243
at about 60mph you just float right over them like a small bump in the road.was in a car with someone and they said watch this. I would have never believed it but they did it like 3 times.

I did this in a grocery store parking lot today with my mercury. I noticed how little I felt the bump and I got overconfident and then I drove through an intersection that had big dips in the road next, but I kept doing 30 and the car SLAMMED into the first dip and bounced way up and then I hit the second dip and it felt like I got some air in front of everyone waiting for the light. it was embarassing tbqh
>>
>>28594237
For me it's the dips

>t. drive up an embankment to get around a pay barrier in the car park every week
>>
>>28598902
damn. well that's kinda sad. about to ditch the 235/40r19s on my camry for 215/60r16s. oh well the tyres are way cheaper and at least i can just laugh at potholes
>>
>>28600490
Doesn't matter, you're just putting more strain on them for no reason, just because some retards can't control themselves from going 70km/h inside a town.
>>
>>28594237
My trugg doesn't care about speed bumps. Like curbs, they are just a suggestion.
>>
>>28601251
im ok with this, civilized people will get minimal wear while monkeys will be left on the side of the road
