Holy shitI'm buying it when it comes out and if it's priced under $60k.
>>28596004Mustang GT can be had for that.
I bought a camaro SS over a Q50/q60 originally because i wanted le manuel option Ideally i wanted 4 doors and all other 4 door sedans with manuel were FWDslop If infinity actually pulls through with a RWD + manual + sedan then i swear i will buy this thing.
>>28596006That just shows the mustang GT is overpriced because it's less practical for the same amount of money.
>>28596009surprised you didn't get a blackwing.
Apparently nissan decided it can't compete with the germans in the premium sporty SUV segment, a comeback to sedans to undercut the competition, like the original G35, like how the Genesis G70 from the koreans is doing today... i think it may be the right move.
>>28596006We'll see how badly the Infiniti interior compares to the stang, but I get feeling that Infiniti will use a turbo engine that can boost way higher than factory
the skyline nismo from a few years ago looked really good. they should lean into the skyline heritage of this since the GTR is dead. definitely interested in this car since the krauts cant into manual anymore
>>28596014It'll be the 3L in the Z.
>>28596012Pricing is VERY crucial here. Blackwings START at $63kI got my camaro ss used at around $38k after taxes/warranty and everything. When i got my camaro i was poorer, kind of bought it with my sign on bonus at my first bigboy job kek, but now i have quite a bit more money. I am still not comfortable with dropping $63k on a ct4 blackwing, much less how in the real world actual blackwings for sale are loaded with like $10k,$20k of options. Not to mention the actual packaging of the CT4 is very cramped, backseats are kind of unusable. I'm fine with a slower car than the blackwing or the camaro, some sort of detuned vr30... Q50s/Q60s were selling for a much more reasonable $50k, which was under msrp. only thing was lack of manual. If infiniti can keep this sort of pricing then I'm excited. >>28596014Yep mustang definitely has more potential in performance, but in terms of cheap accessible power, a turbo v6 is the way to go. >>28596018The q50 and q60 were legitimately beautiful cars, i also hope they dont fuck up the styling, just refresh the interior... Give a digital dash and an integrated screen that looks modern and its good to go.
>>28596004>>28596013I leased a G70. It was pretty good.Dealership and financing? Compete nig tier. It was literally just hyundai with a few logo changes here and there. Service was shit.Infinity and Genesis always look good, but cars are more than JUST looks. Also every nissan/infinity driver is a nig, spic, or acts like one.>60KSupra probably faster, more reliable, and more fund to drive.Corvette would crush it for 8K more.Would probably get BTFO by a WRX with a tune package too running at 60-70% the price?
>>28596244>Supra>Corvette>WrxI own a camaro SS, I'm not interested in another coupe. The point is it has 4 doors, rwd, manual and has a reasonably sized engine. There is NOTHING else like that under $60k, the other cars you mention don't meet the criteria. >dealershipEh I've heard genesis is uniquely bad. for what its worth, infinity is more established. >financingkek i don't plan to engage in that practice
>>28596004they're gonna fuck it up and make it too expensive or only put the manual on the top trim but if I can get the Z drivetrain (manual) in a comfy sedan for $55k I will seriously consider upgrading from my wrx
>>28596333Ideally they have three trims, and each with manuel, all RWD, maybe an optional awd Q50 Base: NA 3.5 v6, maybe 300-350hp ~$45kQ50 S: 3.0l tt v6, same as nissan Z, 400-450hp ~$55k, the sweet spotQ50 Red sport: 3.8l tt v6, same as GTR, 500-550hp~$75k, retvrning to GT R roots.
im not giving money to koreans for their soulless shitcar
>>28596583your price is too high to match public sentiment but it's right on the nose with how Nissan likes to structure their pricing tiers. the primary concern with sales volume before the q50 was discontinued was price. I think they're really going to have to dig deep and find a way to get the car in the mid to high 30s to be able to sell it. I said in another thread that I think this would be doable if they restructured the V37 chassis to include the Nissan name. A strip down model similar to your base but for mid 30s, a mid tier turbo for 45k (same as outgoing vr30 base q50), then the high price tech pack for $60+. I also said that they should call it the Skyline but I have since reconsidered. Every person familiar with the Skyline name in the US will inevitably compare it to the GT-R which hasn't been a Skyline since the 00s and will completely ignore that Japan called them Skylines since the v35 and FM platform. maybe they can bring an unfamiliar name to the US market like Gloria or Leopard or a new name for the Nissan Q sister car. All I know is the gloves are off and Nissan North America has maybe 2 years left to make shit happen and they need to bring out their big guns.
>>28596600>was priceYeah they were selling under MSRP, which is why I was semi interested in them, it was competitive. >dig deepNot as deep as you think? Nissan has all of these engines designed already, especially the first two, we don't really even need a new platform/chassis or a new powertrain. Just an updated interior.>mid 30sNot happening. A fuckin camry/accord with a turbo 1.5t+CVT is like mid 30s. Think you just need a wakeup call, EVERY car is "overpriced" nowadays.New cars are simply not for the average public, theyre for people with money.Obviously I'd be pleasantly surprised if it were cheaper than $45k, but i really dont see it.>should call it the SkylineAs long as they take some design elements of the skyline, i'd be happy. Round taillights would be cool >maybe 2 years left to make shit happenThis company's really on the decline and the Q50 sedan is NOT going to save them. It'd be lucky to even move 20k units yearly. But they do need to build back their brand image overall, maybe this will help. Maybe convert more of their econobox nissans into upscaled infinitis, maybe introduce some hybrid powertrains, and really distinguish their body on frame SUVs from the standard nissan lineup. Get rid of the 4cylinders in the larger crossovers and give them proper v6s.
>>28596615the chassis has earned it's ROI many times over and is still a great car, so I don't expect or even want a redesign there. the interior is most people's hangup on design. public sentiment is wavering away from xboxhueg screens in favor of smaller screens and bringing back physical buttons. I think Hyundai and Toyota has research supporting this. I really think mid 30s is possible if they can leverage scale under the Nissan name. They also never really advertised the q50. Infiniti never advertises their cars. wtf is up with that?>New cars are simply not for the average public, theyre for people with money.that's exactly Nissans market right now. all of this is conjecture though. Nissan probably has ZERO plans on integrating the v37 chassis into a sales numbers pushing simple sedan for the people. Honestly, I"m just tapping into my hopium. It's a great car with huge potential as a car that can revive the company if they package it into the correct trims, nomenclature, and actually advertise for the thing. It has nearly zero R+D expense as is so I think it's poised as the comeback king if they can do what I mentioned.I genuinely believe downscaling the platform for affordability with the option for high power/high tech trims is the move here. They can even make a 4 cylinder model as long as they tell mercedes to hit the trail. That engine was trash. If you look at most comment sections for any newly released car, the comments are full of lament for the price, too high tech, unneeded options, OEM not listening to consumer complaints
>IMA BUY IT DOODno you wont. you'll just be eying whatever other gay shit is on the horizon.
They should unironically fit McDonald's struts if they want to value engineer it to be as cheap as possible the old q50 was too technically complex for a discount dollar store bmw Like just buy a 330i and think how can we use as many Chinese parts as possible and still retain 90% of this vehicles performance attributes
>>28596658I doubt the extended cost savings would be worth a redesign of the already existing front suspension given the expected sales volume of this car. Making the car rwd no awd option would have a greater impact on value I think and the car was already available in this configuration. The Q also has a sunroof as standard. Ditch that. Those 2 things alone are worth 2k off the cost. If the car was NA, that's piping, sensors, turbos, intercoolers, heat exchangers not priced into the cost either. a NA v6 with good customer facing updates to the interior would go a long way towards my mid 30k idea. Look at this Borg Cube of a powerplant from my personal q50. Every piece you see is money. Over half the bits and piping are to support the turbo system alone.
>>28596642>If you look at most comment sections for any newly released car, the comments are full of lament for the price, too high tech, unneeded options, OEM not listening to consumer complaintsAnon, these are poors who never could afford a new car, had no intention to buy it in the first place, complaining. They are just upset that they'll only be able to afford it after 6 owners instead of after 4 owners. The manufacturer has no reason to listen to these people. What people SAY they want isnt what people are actually able to buy. I can tell you for a fact that adjusting for inflation most cars in a certain segment arent actually that much more expensive compared to 20,30 years ago. Im not trying to defend billion dollar corporations, but in terms of managing expectations, there is no world where a rwd 6cyl sport sedan costs like $1k more than an accord no matter how much people cry in comments sections. >They can even make a 4 cylinder modelEh I'm inclined to agree with you overall, but i think a strung out 4cyl is the wrong direction for a base model compared to a v6, which is infiniti's bread and butter. The genesis g70 had a manual trans 2.0t, and i dont think thats a particularly exciting car. a 6cyl would ride smoother and appeal to enthusiasts more.> public sentiment is wavering away from xboxhueg screensI hope so. I actually dont mind between a digital vs analog gauge cluster, but the outgoing center two screen design is definitely wack and needs to be a single integrated screen (of course with physical buttons)Also updating interior design has to do with packaging as well, a lot of these older sport sedans are just very cramped inside, especially in the back. amerifats are getting bigger. >>28596647I am running out of ideas on ways to spend my ENORMOUS amounts of money. infiniti will pull through.
>a super niche product from a company going undereven if they release it it's going to be mediocre like the Z

>>28596583Why are Infiniti/Nissan autists like this
>>28596676I should post my Datsun’s engine bay for a comparison.
>>28596583there's no way they use an N/A V6 or the GT-R engineit will be different versions of the 3.0tt just like it currently is
>>28596244You have a pulse, anyone can finance a gook Korean car. No one wants those piece of shit cars. Only nig nogs
>>28596970How do they stop people from just tuning the engine instead of buying the top trim
>>28597757most people who buy brand new cars don't tune them because they are afraid of being denied a warranty claim if there's a problem with the engine
>>28596009Supposedly ford is coming out with a 4door mustang, but details have been scarce
>>28596004They're going to be made in Mexico. Nissans new CEO is basically Ghosn but Mexican. DOA
>>28597757>How do they stop people from just tuning the engine instead of buying the top trimBy giving them mechanical upgrades that make it worth it. Even last gen Red sport vs other trims were missing other upgrades like an oil cooler, secondary water pump, paddle shifters, new front fascia (Q50), bigger brakes, and they can do more for the next gen like add an LSD and upgrade the sway bars.
