it's not illegal to daily driver a motorhome
But it's a bit inconvenient unless your motorhome is a van conversion because it's bigger than the cars everything is designed around. t. motorhome dailying chad
>>28596293What size of motorhome do you think is the threshold that it becomes too large to be convenient?
mmm yes i like 6mpg and owning an asset that depriciates like toilet paper but also stinking it up beyond repair by dailying it
>>28596693If it's bigger than a large van.
>>28596798I lust for a mercedes sprinter or ford transit converted RV
This is basically driving a van. NBD
Where there is a will there is a way.
>>28596286>>28596693When I was longhaul OTR my bobtail semi truck was my daily driver, because the company paid for the fuel lmaoThat thing was taller than an RV (13'6) and as long as a van conversion
>>28596835Brave and valid
>>28596835>Trans Vanlmao
>>28596835And this is basically driving a truck.(which are cooler than vans and get more vagina)
>>28597066Rarely see people with campers that small though. 90% of the time they look more like this.
>>28597066Vans will get you a lot more pussy than any truck thanks to all the van life stuff on social media.
>>28597096The frame bending in half is due to crash regs. Trucks have the issue of having the bed slam into the cab at high speed crashes and causing secondary crash injuries, so automakers addressed it by engineering a failure point so that the two are separated by forcing them to pivot. It's a compromise primarily borne of using work trucks as commuter cars.

>>28596286GMC Motorhomes are so fucking cool, mostly because of the Toronado driveline. I never knew they only made like 10,000 and change of them.
>>28596286>mogs ur dailynothin personnel
>>28599305>I never knew they only made like 10,000 and change of them. The company that they based the initial design off, Revcon, kept making them for several more years afterwards. However, I think there are still less Revcons around than GMCs. They made some Revcons that were longer than any of the GMC models. Up to 34' I think.
>>28599344look at all that wasted length and space
>>28599351>has 4 rear wheels>is fwdbut y?
>>28599352your mom didn't think it was wasted length
>>28599352yehfifth wheels are alot easier to back up with, however im.o that one is not long enough to justify it. just get a truck camper.
>>28599358The ultimate experience is to just git gud and have a vehicle that is in the right sweet spot to be drive-able anywhere. Somewhere around the 26' to 34' length. That's when you're really motorhomin' for real.
I don't even want a RV to sleep in or go camping. The appeal to me is being able to drive like 2-3 hours away to visit friends and have a little apartment they can come out to visit me inside where we play video games without me having to fuck around with their home set-up or drag shit in to set up on their kitchen table. Like a mobile living room I can park in the drive-way and have everything set-up ready to go the second I get there. Or they can meet me half-way and make the drive a lot shorter for me while also getting out of the house for them.
>>28599344That's really cool.
>>28599363I do camp, however for me the appeal is equally split with the idea of it being an emergency backup home, for fleeing disaster or other unforeseen events. My previous home was lost to a forest fire.
>>28596286>>28596700Lol. Its a valiant effort at not living on the streets but youre actually in the street. You tell people that you are staying flexible and not tied down because you can chase those opportunities, that never pan out. Too strapped for cash keeping your beast running and street legal to leave the local area that you become a neighborhood fixture in the end

>>28597066Sorry, at no point is a truck cooler than a van. Trucks, real trucks, are utilitarian. They pick up cool points for care free bopping down the back roads, or up to no good having parties with the tailgate down. Not that pavement princess bullshit. Vans on the other hand are built to be cool, infinitely customizable to the owner's personality. They're at their best not moving at all. Nobody puts wall to wall carpet in a vehicle for practicality. It's creating an atmosphere. It's actually impossible to be upset driving a van. Take the vanpill and you'll never not have one again. Keep the truck; it's great for moving lumber or the deer you shot, but you'll wish you were driving your van.
>>28596286these class of campers are increasing in popularity here, they will fit in most city parking lots, can be daily driven/carry a load from ikea and since we dont have any laws against camping in a parking lot you can park right outside a restaurant, eat and drink yourself stumbling drunk then sleep it off right there and drive off the next day.
>>28596835Wonder how many hairy nasty gangbangs happened in the back of that pussy wagon.
>>28599473Some day friend, someday
>>28596286True. But it's stupid.>depreciates to nearly worthless within 10 years of being new>generally built like shit, prone to leaking and mold>abysmal fuel economy>difficult to work on due to the engine being buried, suspension being under a big heavy chassisA camper trailer and a pickup is a far better option.

>>28599353Maybe they didn't want it to have a 15 foot long driveshaft
>>28599353Too much weight for a single rear axle.
>>28602227If they're old they're likely snowbirds and already have a house they live in during the summer. For $250k a class C or a small class A and a towed vehicle would make a fuck of a lot more sense. That much for a Sprinter or a Promaster with a nice interior seems a little ridiculous. Sure it's easy to live with and can sort of go off road but that's some pretty bad value.
>>28599344>a fucking 4 cylinderYeah it's a Toyota engine, but a fucking 4 cylinder is hauling all that ass, my god.

my boomer father in law asked me to research about the new 'tesla motorhome' you'd need to sign up for one and pay 200€ upfront. Told him it's an cheap ai scam right away. Atleast he isn't gullible and asked me to do research for him if it's either real or fake and gay. 3 minutes of research revealed the later.cheap ai ads on facebook are the boomers greatest bane it seems lmao. nigerian prince on steroids
