The other anons do have the point as well in that, to an American, the difference in cost between, say, a Fiesta and a Suburban is mostly just going to be what you pay in gas. Insurance on the bigger car might even be cheaper. Even with less extreme examples, like a Rav4 vs a Corolla, the cuckovers basically get car MPG at this point as well - and to your average normie that means they get the perceived benefits like the "commanding seating position" with none of the drawbacks.
