They take your money and service your car. What else would you expect?

The Midas touch: a complimentary handjob.

They turned my dick into gold and now it hurts to pee

they quoted me over $1200 for a brake job on a 5k shitbox. "Midas touch" should be a synonym for robbery.

All 4 disks and pads? What car?

I need to know this info before I determine who is retarded

Dad made bank working at one in like 91-92. The location did like $960k in sales in one year. It's where he really learned to work fast as fuck working flat rate

Exhaust is rusting off one of my shitboxes. Don’t have the time or patience to DIY and the local boomer mechanic wants way too much money

This doesn't answer my question in any way so I'm assuming you are retarded

Obviously anecdotal, but like 15 years ago my wife took her car in for an oil change at some random shop. The guy at the shop came in with a clipboard and quoted her like 1.5k worth of work that she HAD to do right then. The car was not roadworthy without it. I told him to pull her fucking car out of the garage, and we drove to midas. They ended up doing the oil change, confirmed nothing else was wrong with the car. Ended up going back for years and they'd always drive us home while work was getting done. Shout out to the Midas in Cary,NC.

Yeah the thing with large corpo chains like this is if one pisses off a customer it makes the whole chain look bad, and the higher ups REALLY don't like that so they run a tight ship and keep everything in line. Random local mechanic can give two fucks what you say about him on Yelp (probably doesn't even know what it is) so he has no ethics about gouging you out of every dime.

The one in my city got shut down and had a class action lawsuit filed against it for running several scams and breaking people's cars on purpose. There was also an AAMCO running that hadn't had a business license in 15 years and was also screwing people over in various ways. None of these places make an honest living.

They're on my shitlist. I went there a couple times just because they're like 2 minutes from my house and I didn't have time to fix my shit. They kept the car for 3 days without giving me any updates then just gave up and decided not to fix it. (it was a bad o2 sensor). They gave it back to me with parts not reinstalled and bolts just finger tight. Never again.
