Can anyone else actually see a Fucking thing at night? tonight I drove since 5:10pm to 9:30 with my 1984 Mazda Rx-7 250 miles. By far the worst miles were on the freeway, I may have a bit of astigmatism but running high beams barely equaled a couple of their fog lights. Backroads, uncongested highways, roads where people know not to fuck around, absolutely perfect. HID and Projector headlights are a Bane on the existence of the night driver none of them are aimed properly on the assembly line anymore combined with the massive light pollution.
call me a boomer, but I could identify all the headlights and taillights of cars pre 2005 as a child before everything got too bright, and I was born in 95'.
Night drives were my favorite thing before I discovered deer were retarded.
>>
I have astigmatism and it's actually a superpower for night time driving cause the giga bright lights don't flood your vision. It's just starbursts and you can actually see everything around the starbursts clearly.

The pieces of shit who designed those headlights should be blinded as karmic punishment.
Manufacturers are purposely cheating the rules by adding a dimming piece only where the brightness is tested so the rest of headlight can exceeds regulation limits for brightness.

It sounds like you got shitty eyes or a shitty windshield. I live in one of the bro truck capitals of the world where every second vehicle is a lifted truck with shitty aftermarket LED's or badly adjusted factory LED's. I do get blinded occasionally but nowhere near enough to write a blog post about it even in my low to the ground econobox. I also smoke a lot of weed which makes it worse. A heavily pitted windshield will scatter the light from these vehicles and blind you. It's also your fault for driving a low to the ground car. You're going to get blinded when your eyes are sitting below the headlights of a modern vehicle even if those lights are properly adjusted with the proper cutoff. A tall vehicle with old school halogens is still going to blind a lower vehicle.

my guy, I can stop at every service station every 15 fucking miles to squeegee every single gnat off my windshield and still be blinded by the excess light pollution. they haven't made headlights more efficient by improving them, they just made them obnoxiously brighter.
my sister's wrecked Jetta from 2004 had such good headlight's I was confounded when I got my 2011 challenger, and had the option of HID headlights, Pre hitting a deer I was really unimpressed, Hi or low beams didn't do shit different other than spray light where it wouldn't work, post deer hit the lefthand headlight wasn't even aimed out of the Bodyshop.
judging how plenty of these truck or crossover owners drive they can't see shit neither, 85+mph ahead

Bugs on your windshield won't blind you. Windshields get millions of little pits on them over time from impacts from gravel on the road or other road debris. The only way to fix this is to replace the windshield. It makes a pretty massive difference. You're delusional if you think headlights haven't gotten better. Modern LED's spread the light evenly and pretty far as well as into the ditches. It's pretty retarded to expect others to run shitty headlights just so you don't get blinded in your impractical adult toy.

we aren't talking about visibility, Glass clarity, Nor Lumens. We are talking about visibility while driving a vehicle
>>
Another Midwest anon literally blinded by the light lmao
>>
>>28602777
Shits obnoxious. For a while i was thinking there was an uptick in people driving around with highbeams.
>>
I wonder if polarized sun glasses will work at night? Or if I will end the up in a ditch.
>>
>>28602861
Same lol then I realized it was the asshole car manufacturers. I don't know how they are legal.

u should learn to index to the right of the lane)

Yellow night driving glasses help cut blue light and make it more pleasant to drive at night.
Headlights now suck dick, especially if you have a sports car. I just don't drive at night if I can avoid it.
>>
My car is so low everything blinds me. I thought someone was flashing me this morning but it was just an SUV going over the road undulatinns kek
>>
>>28602861
>thinking there was an uptick in people driving around with highbeams.
this IS part of the problem though
so many retards and niggers that think the high beam button is their headlights, they have their auto headlights turned off for some reason and literally just use the high beam button when it's dark

I largely gave up on driving at night. I'm not looking forward to the fucking time change and the sun setting at like 4:30 so I can get nuked all they way home. Oh wait for the millionth year in a row there's talk of ending daylight savings time or whatever the fuck. stupid fucks will never get anything done that would actually help the average citizen.

there are definitely some people who legit do it on purpose, they get some kind of pleasure out of knowing they're blinding everyone. lifted truck drivers especially. it's like, they HAVE to know that their lights are way too high and they HAVE to see that it's bouncing off people's mirrors directly into their eyes but they either don't care or they enjoy doing it.

then there's the idiots who recoil when someone floats the idea of introducing legislation to control headlight brightness (as if cops would enforce it, lazy worthless pieces of shit). as if that's not the point of government, to protect its citizens, same reason you're required to carry auto insurance. obviously people won't self-regulate in this regard, so we look to a higher authority to force compliance because that's the only way.

One cunt in particular in my area is going to get blasted by 12,000 lumens of the Light of God soon because of his ultra high output replacement bulbs.

Like faggot, I know those aren't your high beams. I'm flashing mine to show you how bright your normals are to everyone else. Does me giving you the finger not send the message?
Fuck THE TAPE, he's getting hit by a miniature sun.

>I could identify all the headlights and taillights of cars pre 2005 as a child before everything got too bright
I do remember this, and not as in remembering the LED lightbar patterns, but as actually seeing design of the headlight itself being lit up by a normally-lit bulb. Honestly actual HIDs have always been fine aside from the shitty retrofit kits in halogen housings, it's the newer LED and laser headlights that tend to have horrible cutoffs.
You can literally search online and find many examples of cars like Corollas now having owners complain that their headlights are being mistaken for high beams, and in some cases entire years have wrongly adjusted headlights that you know your average owner will never even care to try to fix. Imagine how many other cars are like that now.
Those yellow glasses do sort of work, too.

I just got my eyes worked on, and no it's not. Lights just look like bright points and don't cover your vision with starbursts. I can also use my weapon sights now without fucking hating life. Fuck astigmatism.

LED headlights should be made illegal.

>HID and Projector headlights are a Bane on the existence of the night driver none of them are aimed properly
Properly aimed projectors are way better than reflectors, they don't blind you if you're not inside the light cone. All reflectors have light leaks (even properly aimed ones), that's one of the reasons they are less effective than projectors. And for improperly aimed, you definitely don't want a big bowl of light to imprint on your retina for 10 minutes. With projectors it would be a small dot.

>then there's the idiots who recoil when someone floats the idea of introducing legislation to control headlight brightness
But it is controlled. Even two decades' old regulations require headlights over 2000 lm to have a washer (or other type of cleaner) and auto-leveling system, iirc. Newer ones might be even stricter, but I don't own any nu-cars.

you are yapping at the /o/ equivalent of hfcs or the vaxx
these retards dont want to hear the truth, it might contradict their fee fees
>>
>>28602823
It's not just an issue in low cars. I drive a truck with a small front-end lift (leveling kit) and I still get blinded by some vehicles. Oddly the worst offenders are small European crossovers. I think dealers are just failing to adjust the lights properly.
