You get ground clearance and 4x4 for off roading, a bed for moving anything from lumber to furniture, and towing capacity (sure you can bolt a hitch to anything but you won't get the brakes and transmission that come with a vehicle built with towing in mind).Modern engines are powerful yet fuel efficient to where it doesn't make sense to agonize over losing a few MPGs. Contrary to popular belief on this board, you also don't need to be towing a trailer or using the bed 24/7 to justify owning a pickup. For generations the pickup has been seen as ultimate vehicle for a masculine, capable man for good reason.I know /o/ constantly cries about trucks this ultimately boils down to communist envy.

If you daily a truck that isn't a work truck then you're too poor to own multiple cars, too anti-social to have friends/family who are willing to lend you their truck/van, and too dumb to notice that they're not even worth the price nowadays.That or you got one as a hand-me-down and don't care to get a new car
