Doesn't the Ariya use the Renault-Nissan CMF-EV platform, now renamed to AmpR Medium after Groupe Renault's subsidiary Ampere took it over?
The platform is supposed to be used by the Renault Megane, Nissan Ariya & Leaf and possibly a new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

This highlights the benefit of EV over ICE. Despite its small length, it still boasts impressive boot and interior capacity. An ICE this short would have had minimum space for the back seats/trunk.
