I guess the game is on. Why did i want to do this again?
Filter out to make some room
what car? that looks like a ez clutch
>>28607324Unironically a 1994 lancer 1.6I need bigger jackstands, these dont go high enough
I barely fit under there
I can get those off bu the bolts for the tranny are hidden
I guess i have to drop this thing. Maybe i need an engine hoist after all
>>28607385This little nigger
>>28607363>I need bigger jackstands, these dont go high enoughYou can just stock blocks under the wheels and use jack as 2ndary safety along with
>>28607412nah, just prop a jack under the oil pan or something sturdy like a 6x6 wood.
>>28607419Or steel rims, two welded on top of eachother for extra heightI sware on me mum its the best
>>28607422The oilpan is all the way overyonder thoughverbeit. It doesnt balance well looks like
>>28607419That could work. I can check maybe ol dad has some blocks at his house laying around
>>28607453Inno the wheels have to come off for this japanese job
>>28607445i'lll be fine. you can use your hydraulic jack to hold it in place.>>28607458you can replicate this with a 2x4 sideways and some chain.
>>28607385I've done this before. You don't need a hoist, but you do need to drop the subframe. Just keep the engine/tranny (engine mated part) suspended from the top with chains/straps while you pull the subframe and tranny (bellhousing part) out the bottom. The subframe is easier to handle if you unbolt it at the strut column instead of fucking with ball joints, and when reinstalling the subframe you can put a jack under one side and use the strut bolt holes and a drift pin to line up very easily. You'll need to check the alignment obviously, but if you mark the subframe bolt holes you should be able to line it up the same as before.
>>28607542Appreciate the tips alot> The subframe is easier to handle if you unbolt it at the strut columnYou mean the red circle part where its attached to the car?
>>28607537> you can replicate this with a 2x4 sideways and some chain.Hadnt thought of this, grazie
>>28607771I mean the suspension strut where the wheel is, you should be able to just remove the two big bolts at the bottom and avoid messing with ball joints. At least that worked on my SUV.It's so much easier putting the subframe back on if you only have to line up those two bolts per side. You can even just lie on your back and bench press it into position then slam the bolts in if you feel like it.
>>28607419no, the wheels and axels have to come off. youd have to support it by the frame/pinch welds my son
https://youtu.be/zQ-Ih8njONg?si=sKw87jau_MdWrcFx good luck my son, im laughing as I post this. not at you but the video
>>28611421"CC" on
>>28611413Understood. My jackstands are not safe, one snapped, unironically.i ordered new ones.
>>28608356Ok, i understand what you mean
>>28611421I will check it tonight o7
>>28611437Unironically put a weld on it
>>28611444I dont trust my own welds, unironically
>>28607777>>28607412that thing is like 30 bucks at harbor freight, gives you more room under the car. worth every penny.
