Anyone have luck running china turbos? How many miles do you have on it or get before it shit out? Was it catastrophic or just seals leaking?

I think times are changing. Alot of jap stuff sucks now or jap brands are outsourcing to india and china. Garrett isnt made in japan either.

I ended up buying one after finding out garrett is making the same turbo in china. Im going swap the CHRA into my current housing Then Im going to port match the manifold on the chinese housing. Eventually I will swap it over. Need to find a cheap enough used exhaust manifold to also port.

Lots of high name turbos have manufacturing is China so I wouldn’t really bat an eye. It’s worth a try at least.

everything “made in japan” is now made by vietnamese or jeets. just like “made ij italy” means “made by imported chink slave labor”

japanese people have a good cultural ethos for quality.
making something badly just won't do even if the material quality is sometimes poor or assembly is lazy. they design things around poor quality materials and human mistakes rather than just going "fuck it ship it" like the chinese do.
