All the "gig" work for driving pay absolute ass. All I want to do is drive my car around, I'm fine with it currently, but $0.50 net profit after taxes and maintenance is absurd. Has anyone here at /o/ cracked pandora's box and found a medium that pays well?

You need a car that's super cheap to buy and maintain and will eat miles without complaining, probably a hybrid or EV, I think Priuses and Corollas are/were popular for this. And I'm sure there's more to it, regarding picking your area and work times. You're still not gonna make a whole lot of money, it's work that's really only suitable for illegal immigrants and people caught between jobs who are only doing it for a couple months before the car maintenance costs catch up with them.

There'd be no reason to have any other job. As it is it's for people who are so inept that they can't do anything else, not even flip burgers, so they get paid less than burger flippers.

Obviously you're kind of fucked if you drive a sports car with no cargo room. A government gig would be ideal as well. These guys get paid pretty well to deliver mail using their personal vehicles.

I don't really remember what they said they charge per mile but I remember they get a lot of work moving dirt and gravel because they're cheaper than a dump truck and 10,000lbs, which is the max for their trailer, is all most people really need.

This shit is a scam for foreign slave laborers, don't fall for it.Executive protection drivers in my company make 90-115k base before overtime and they're scheduled for 16 hour shifts so any hour over 8 is overtime thanks to our based labor laws. They're insanely paid, but you need a good tactical background and to be selected for the role by being the best looking/smelling. They're definitely biased for looks because you're driving billionaires around. I got to drive an armored Maybach and that was pretty much peak.
