I liked the early versions of the Zonda but Pagani has since become a bit too Liberace for my tastes.
Koenigsegg is probably the nicest, but again, a bit much.
Bugatti loves to throw nods towards its heritage, but there's absolutely no continuity there even spiritually. That new V16 is wonderful, but that's Cosworth's work.

So your entire presumption hinges on an offhand untested comment for an article in which the journo himself writes that the car was still accelerating when it hit the redline at 221mph.

None of that suggests that they took a finalized prototype and redesigned an entirely new transaxle just for it. Seems more likely that you misread an article and extrapolated an incorrect conclusion that better suits your worldview/agenda.

Im not a fan of the Utopia but I respect the Pagani brand, it has 3 main models produced and it seems like a product of real love and dedication to me in all of them. Theyre kind of like ferrari with the obsession of protection its own heritage

The Bugatti was absolutely an object of obsession for Ferdinand Piech.

Pagani is easily the most consumerist, they haven't done anything innovative in decades and don't even build their own engines. Instead largely regurgitating the same cars repeatedly as special editions with a few more carbon trim pieces each time.

sounds like it can benefit from both, and based on murray's comments, he clearly wanted to. so why wouldn't he? he's clearly not above modifying the car. and the excessively long distance the car needs to hit its speed would greatly benefit from longer gearing.

Again, Murray made an offhand comment YEARS before the 1998 run. At best it was an anecdotal guess. Not something a reasonable person would take this as factual. Certainly not enough to make up lies about gearing.

XP5 only had the rev-limiter disabled and the body panels taped. Nothing was replaced with something that was unique to XP5 or unavailable to customers from McLaren hence why its production claims are legitimate. A stark contrast to cars that have been modified with new powertrains, body panels, suspension, etc. from a third-party.
