Based Nissan putting the z 12v/cigarette lighter down in the passenger footwell so you can easily run a cord for something (like a radar detector) without it getting in the way.
>>28612878>not wiring the radar detector directly into the accessory circuitsolderlets
>>28613003>using solder in an automotive applicationcrimplet
>>28612878Based nigsan knew we would be up to hoodrat shit
>>28612878better equipped than a 911 at 200k, based nissan.
>>28612878nice of them to give the passenger a spicy toe pocket
>>28612878Do radar detectors even work anymore with every new car having vehicle detection built in? (Uses same frequency)
>>28613538Yes they do, Mazda CX-5s like to set off the K band on my radar detector when I'm like 10 feet from them, but that's it... I only have a cheap detector that can't turn off bands like the nice ones, but the 2+ miles of detection in non ideal conditions I've gotten is worth the occasional store door setting it off, it can't protect you from cops with a lidar gun but if they're using KA band from their cars, holy the shit signal can bounce a a long way sometimes if you're on a flat highway with nothing in the way.
>>28613070Found a pic of your ecu
>>28613618You're retarded. Crimps are the standard for OEM wiring. It doesn't matter if you take apart you fucking 20 year old civic or a $10,000,000 bugatti, the connections on the harness are going to be crimped, dumbass.
>>28612878Its for your data logging laptop.Keep it on the passenger floorboard so it doesnt fly out the windows on a curve.
>>28613538The detectors are still good and filter out lots of stuff but if you live in a nice area the cops probably are shooting LIDAR at you anyway
>>28613622You're crimping out.
>>28614316This, stationary cops with lidar really makes waze really effective, but the state police still love to shoot KA band from moving cars on the freeway sometimes, and that's where radar detectors come in. a lidar gun takes way more effort to use because it's so focused, meanwhile KA band antennas on police cars can be aimed in sort of your general direction and still get a speed.

>>28613003>>28613070the only time solder is used is when the thing being soldered is firmly secured to prevent vibrations from wrecking it, e.g. ecu cases that are bolted in, sometimes with rubber vibration dampeners.>>28614317Hello Carlos this is the Immigrations and Customs Department it's time to go home now.
>>28613622>Crimps are the standard for OEM wiringthat doesnt make it good you retard. pic related is the standard for OEM body panel attachment, it doesnt mean it is secure, and has a 10% chance of breaking if you every try to remove it
>>28614335planes also don't use solder, crimps only and for me if it's good enough for planes it's good enough for cars
