What makes a clutch good or bad?
>>28614895state your use case, wrenchlet
>>28614895better to get one that will slip rather than snap your cv axels if you are putting out more power
>>28614895feel and clamping force.>v6 swap a mr2>upgraded "stage 2" clutch is cheaper than oem replacement>???>car feels like shit cause clutch needs way too much force to engage/disengageoem replacement clutch swap back in, perfect again. if you dont need the extra clamping foce, dont upgrade it.
>>28615522this is kindof horseshit because most mid range performance clutches do not take alot of pedal force to actuate, really the only ones that are annoying are race-only stuff that only a retard would buy.I have a spec stage 2 clutch kit and it feels no damn different than a smaller stock clutch assembly other than it doesn't slip when I floor it.
>>28615523says the faggot without a v6 swapped mr2. my literal experience, bus rider.
>>28614895the way that it is.they dont think it be like thatbut it do
>>28615528strongest toyota owner
>>28614895I use a C6 Z06 clutch in my LS swapped Turd gen.Good to 500rwhp without slipping.Super easy to press and modulate.$500 kit, fits any LS.Only drawback I have is when the clutch gets hot at the race track, the engagement is slower.Doesn't slip, but it's not as direct.
>>28614895Clutches have been solved. So one clutch isn't going to be better than another. They'll just have different goals.
I only randomly drive 10 speed crash boxes that are someone else's problem. The more they're different the more they're all the same. Fuck it send it
>>28614895Saw one of these irl recently, looks stunning.
The only good feeling clutch is a motorcycle clutch. All car clutches feel like shit in comparison
>>28615522>stronger clutch is heavierno shit retard maybe change the master/slave cylinder. oh wait, you don't know what you're doing
clutch make leg ouchie DDDD:
>goodDoesn't slip>badSlipsSimple as
>>28615894the whole point is it was not needed bus rider. if it aint broken, dont fix it.
>>28615820Stunning is a bit of a stretch anon, it's tall and awkward. Its just a Japanese mustang/challengr, except from one of the worst Japanese manufacturers
>>28615997not him but it's a lot smaller than a mustang being a true 2 seater. In terms of power to weight, 0-60 times they are actually very close, the cars are almost the same in performance.
>>28614895Not changing the clutch fluid. I changed mine after 100k miles and I noticed the clutch engaged much quicker.
>>28615592Not based MR2 anon but I have an mrs so bread, mexcriment.
>bike clutch>extremely light>can be moved to wherever you want>literally a fucking cable>small range of motion, every mm of travel does something - fast and precise control>car clutch>heavier actuation force>offset from the dead pedal making you lift your foot to hit the clutch>sometimes awkwardly positioned due to tranny tunnel next to it>often needs power assistance and is more complex>high range of motion, but only last 10% actually does anything - delays input and is harder to modulate
