ITT: Ugly cars you would like to own.
It grows on you the longer you look
doesn't this board consider basically every car ugly
>>28614916>frumpy looking RWD hatch/liftback>available with a 6 speed manual and a supercharged 4cyl >could be optioned with a pano roof yet still have manual, cloth seatsIt's even more of a unicorn considering that Americans could option it this way, too. I think a nice one would make a neat beater. Considering that the similar C55 sedan had a V8, some ungodly AMG V8 swap would technically be possible as well with minimal modification.
>>28614916I miss when Renault designed cars this way
For me it's the 2nd gen Panda. Massive potential to take some design cues from the stylish 1st gen models, but instead we got this. It's like they were trying to hide the boxyness, especially on the top trimAs far as utilitarian subcompacts go it's a pretty good package though>>28615166I never really saw the appeal since the BMW compacts also exist and they're honestly better in pretty much every regard. But then I'm from the place where even the more obscure Mercedes are dime a dozen. Main thing I remember is they had some HEINOUS colours for theseYeah V8 swaps have been done, getting the engine in and running is fairly straightforward. But over here you need to replace the brakes, wheels, diff and exhaust to stay road legal and at that point it's quite an undertaking
>>28614916>>28614983I would also like these. Though the 1st gen Aurora is very hard to find now. The GTS1 Race car was far better looking though.
>>28615166personally own two of those, one that can be registered and a parts carthe downsides are the heavy steering and really rough suspensionalso it's basically uncontrollable with ESP off(or perhaps it's a skill issue, owned 3 opel omegas before so i could be biased)besides that i love the instant torque and the m111 engine sounds greatif you're planning on getting one they won't get cheaper than this, so have that in mind, also get the pre facelift one since the 2.0 is infinitely more durable and tunable than the aluminium block 1.8 junk
>>28615237Looked mean as hell in the concept sketches
>>28615012Perhaps what I'm trying to say is "dated". There are timeless cars and there are those that totally absorbed the aesthetics of the time but aged well. And there are those that tried way to hard to adapt to the trends of the time and now are just awful to look at, like the tiburon or the solstice. >>28615203These look great. Even if we pretend to ignore it's glorious drivetrain.
Looks like yet another pozzed coupe crossover, but there's more to it>predates the BMW X6 by 2 years>body on frame>live rear axle, conventional 4x4 transfer case>durable Mercedes diesel engine>decent tow ratingHad a soft spot for them basically since they were new
>>28615166Thought of getting into one of these to get out of my TT since I wanted a rear diff, a 6 speed, and to spend around 6k or less, but saw the performance deficit is impossible to reasonably overcome. The car's two seconds slower to 60 with only 35 less horsepower (189 vs 225) and MB forums say the most they've gained with pulley kits and remaps is 25-40 HP, and they were spending around $2k just to probably still end up with something slower than a TT or Z4. That was 10 years ago and they were complaining about parts availability then, so I imagine now that $2k would also require an Arthurian quest.Every SLK was worse than the TT too and honestly, that was the uglier car, it looks gay in every sense of the word.
>>28614983It grows on you like cancer. This is your brain on GM.
>>28615337oh man, now that's ugly, and way uglier than the musso which had all the stuff you mention
After Gran Turismo, I am honestly curious about the Turbulence. It and the Kia Elan are two Korean cars I'd like to get my hands on.
I need this souped up Rav4
>>28614980That looks like a 4 eyes snake monster, with a mouth full of needle like teeth trying to tell me a shitty joke
one day I'll own a completely MOPAR'd out PT GT for no reason other than it'd be funnybetween the PT and the Neon SRT4 Dodge had a really weird record of terrible cheapo shitboxes with surprisingly decent sports trims for a while
>>28615007>>28615203>>28615946Definitely not ugly.

>>28614983Its literally a baboon's ass
>>28614916It's so ugly. I booted up Gran Turismo 4 yesterday and was reminded of its existence.
>>28615961The 131 Abarth has like two angles that hide how odd it actually looks
>>28615965The crown vic isn't that ugly desu. I grew up in europe and always thought it was a nice looking car (if a little basic),
>>28615959All I need is a 5 speed and dat WOOOOD TRIM nigguh
>>28616018>that hide how odd it actually lookspleb tier tastethis is a good looking car
>>28615970this has a lot of common with the tiburon in the sense that at the time they were released they went too far with the rice trend >>28615992and yet that is the prettier side of it.
