yea... its like 150 bucks fine if you ride in protected forests which is basically everywhere I live but if you ride on field paths which I do mostly it's only a 10 bucks fine.
If I ride in the forest I'd consider covering my plate... they don't get you anyways on a tenny. Still I'm not really the kind of person who enjoys riding while not being tolerated in the area.

Kind of, hooligan bikes are any Sumo or naked with a solid frame for when you drop it doing dumb shit (and dropping wheelies) and decent torque/forks for wheelies/stoppies.

Realistically Sumos are the kings of hooligan, they basically serve no purpose besides to ride around your city popping whoolies, riding into parks for shits and gigs, riding down/up stairs, doing mini jumps off curbs, etc
>>
>>28615702
>>28615691
Also bandits are stock naked, they aren't modified to be one. Don't really know any stunters or hooligans who ride one, maybe way back in the day. These days the most hooligan bikes are MT-07/9 (plus their faired brothers the LAR7P and LAR9P), 636, F4I, Dukes, and Sumos. Also Grom...

>>
>>28615839
Doing that is a pretty popular thing that people do right when they get a sport bike. makes sense
>>
>>28615839
Nakeds still have wider gear spacing that allows them to be tractable at low speeds without revving the piss out of them at higher speeds. Like for an FZ6 the stock gearing is 55mph at 12,000rpm in 1st and 145mph at 12,000rpm in 6th. An R6 with +2 in the back will do 54mph at 11600rpm in 1st so that's pretty close but only 122mph in 6th so you need to stretch it out to 14,000rpm-ish to get to 145mph.

tl;dr close ratio "because race bike" transmissions either have to be tall at the bottom or short at the top. But +1/-2 sprockets are as common as loud exhausts and black windshields.

I don't mind chains, but I'd love if more companies would offer shaft drive on their adv/touring bikes. I was looking into an r1200gs, but they're just so expensive still, and I don't wanna deal with the increasing amount of integrated electronics on the newer models. I'll probably end up getting a vstrom 800 in the next few years, but I hate that it took emissions forcing companies to come up with parallel twins for bikes like that to come out.

ABS and Emissions, yes (although ABS would be on every bike with or without them having a mandate for it), but quick shifters, autoblippers, and traction control are all becoming standardized for sport bikes without any regulation pressure, just as ABS would. You would have to be a deranged Amerimutt to believe EU is at fault for consoomers wanting bikes to be made easier to pilot.

If wheelies were legal, there would be wheelie controllers that will let you nooner with a full throttle open keeping you perfectly at balance point.

Parts are fairly cheap, except for engines and fairings, and I do all the labor myself, as mush as I can. Problems will crop up but stick to the maintenance schedule and they will be minor.
I did have to clean the radiators, line the tank, and nurse the wiring harness when I first got it but a previous owner did a top end and carb job that had her spinning like a top with seemingly no cam issues. Cams are a problem for this model.
If you have a good set of brakes and tires with your eyes ahead of the bike, and not glued to it's gorgeous instrument panel, then it's as safe as any other bike if you have intermediate skills. Not a beginner friendly bike though. I don't ride in the rain, or late at night, or peak traffic hours but I do ride it daily. Treat it like the semi retired racer she is and she won't let you down. She's solid through the turns, smooth as butter with the V4, power on demand, and a plush saddle that feels like your in a lazyboy.

Agreed, what makes bikes (or really anything for that matter) cool is that you need some semblance of skill to pilot one, and all the braindead electronics just make it more and more like a car where you just hold the trottle and turn your brain off.

Like things that are really hard to do are braking hard while downshifting perfectly, having all that momentum loaded onto your arms while pulling in the front brake and then also blipping a throttle is difficult. These days all the track guys just mash down 5 gears instantly and let the slipper clutch, auto-blipper, and quickshifter do literally everything for them.

Due to it being illegal and also the fact that all electronic systems tweak out while doing it, stunt riding might become the last bastion of true riding in the future.

You're not going to see tubeless on a "serious" dirt bike, because a side gash can't be repaired in the field. You'd need a spare tire.

Now, whether a 500lbs bike can be a dedicated dirt machine, or if the people buying a DE will ever ride a rock garden where that's a concern? Shit man, I don't own one and I can't ride trails hard enough to risk that.

Yeah, I use it as a cheapo sumo since sumos are so extremely overpriced, like how is a 25 year old platform like a DRZ priced higher than something like a Duke brand new? Not to mention, Sumos hold their value like trucks do, waaaay more than other bikes. Could buy two used Gixxer thousands for the price of one used DRZ, how the fuck does that work?

Anyways, working gears all feking day with this thing, its a blast. Even a simple left turn from stopped will need an upshift. The existence of braindead auto blippers and quickshifters does make all the effort feel a bit... devalued, but I suppose in the future bikes will be electric and have no gears anyways once the Big Man turns off all the gas pumps; for now I have my fun while I can.

Still not great at maintaining 100% braking while blipping, its fuaaaarking hard not to upset your suspension during each shift, mad respect to the old GP guys having to do that from like 300kmh every corner.

Practically the same bike tbqh, the seating is slightly different ,clip-ons instead of dirt bars, and surprisingly the trail for the forks is very slightly more on the Duke than the RC and the Duke also has a higher top speed, otherwise might as well be copy paste. I'm turning my lil duke into a stunt bike slowly, and the fairings were going to get fucked anyways from dropping it in the lot doing whoolie practice.

There isn't really a good motorcycle track scene in my area, but when I buy an F4I next year I'll try and see if I can't get into a lot more. Right now I'm too broke to even fully get into it while saving for my next bike.

i just don’t go for planned obsolescence. They can charge upwards of fifty thousand bidenbux for a motorcycle these days.
What do you do if your ECU gets a little water in it and burns out, 20 years after they stopped making them? You have to throw it out and buy a new bike. If your carb goes bad, you buy a rebuild kit for $25 and you’re back on the road in 2 hours.

You're right that carbs have no place in a modern bike. You’re forgetting that only reatards buy modern bikes, same kind of people that buy smart refrigerators.

youre unironically an idiot. how many carbed bikes have you owned?
because i have owned carbed bikes, and fuel injection is an absolute godsend
>idle works
>engine braking works and is adjustable
>cold start works
>works high up
>works far down
>works when its hot
>works when its cold
>works with new fuel (yes, carbs get fucked from the boi bullshit ethanol in the fuel now)
fuel injection is simply the better system for motorcycles, i cannot count how often i have removed a fucking carb and put it back in, how often i have fucked around to make it idle in a stable manner.

i would get a carbed bike as a nice project, something thats a plaesure to ride and work on, but as a bike to actually ride, for the purpose of having fun riding it, and not the oldtimer aspect? absolutely FUCK NO.

You will never be a real R series. You have no I4, you have no v4, you have no revs. You are a commuting roleplayer twisted by tiktok and youtube into a crude mockery of Yamaha's perfection.

All the validation you get is twofaced and halfhearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your friends laugh at your paralLEL twin appearance behind closed doors.

Eventually itll be too much to bear you'll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. Theyll bury you with a headstone marked with your engine name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know an MT-07 is buried there.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Heavily modified that has no relation to what you buy from Yamaha, the LAR9P has a 50% increase of cc from the R6 and only equals it in speed, so in order for a LARP bike to be equal to an R1, Yamaha would only need to release the LAR15P next. Lolz.

There are not GSX-R750s in WSSP and Nu Gen SSP is not a real racing class, it's fake performance balancing crap with mandated ECU maps and different modifications allowed for each bike.

Under FIM rules GSX-R750s run straight up dead stock engines except for the ride by wire mods required to run the spec ECU by the way and no chassis mods besides fork internals and shocks, while you can see the R9 has cams, ram air ducting for the headlight recess, and a different first gear, as well as chassis changes like triple clamps, rear links, and running the Tracer swingarm that Yamaha couldn't be fucked to give it from the factory. MotoAmerica allowed rake and swingarm pivot adjustment inserts, triple clamps, and linkages universally in supersport this year for some fucking reason so that's a bit different

the answer to both questions is tiktokfaggotry (read: chinkjew money)

too bad gixxerbrah is a retard and wheelies in the first 60 secs of every video, so his CPM gets raped
>>
>>28616667
>too bad gixxerbrah is a retard and wheelies in the first 60 secs of every video
We love that about the Brah, hes like the only jewtuber that comes off like a kid in a candy store everytime hes on a bike. He really just can't stop himself from squiddin in the streets, its a genuine love for riding. Matthew has always come off as some poser that just liked the social aspect and the fact he got famous from it, spends more time talking about his latest purchases and how much he doesn't like his latest hyperbike because hes scared of it since he can barely ride (watch him at the track).

>3 million followers is insane for "networking", brand deals etc.
Thats what I think as well, you can see it in how they interact too, everytime Matthew tells him not to squid out he just wants to do it more and more. Kind of lame that he has fake his friendship, and Matthew probably just uses the Brah to up his cred with people who actually ride. Both benefit, but who wants to see this fake fucking relationship.

influencers are all cringe in the end I guess. Even Brian is basically just a channel to go watch ghetto blacks chimp out while he glazes his shithole murder capital city.
>>
>>28616673
>its a genuine love for riding
no, its him being mentally retarded
youtubes adrevenue detection shit basically only watches the first 60 seconds of a video and determines your visability, cpm, reach, monetisation etc. solely off of that
if you have videos where youre not being a spacker, or swearing, in the first 60 seconds, you get much better performing videos, which means more reach, more views, more money - more money means he can do bikes full time, which in turn means he can make more videos, more views etc. etc.
but he refuses to submit to the basic understanding of the algorithm, because hes retarded and stubborn
same shit happens with Brian too, his best performing videos are ones where he gets a new bike and spends the first 2 minutes showing it off to the camera before riding off and popping wheelies

>fake his friendship, and Matthew probably just uses the Brah to up his cred
100% true and real, its a symbiotic relationship, brah gets more views, people think matthew knows how to actually ride, like every youtube collab its just a jewish scheme

I've unironically just started watching boomers who go camping on their GS's or riding 350s in the hills of northern England, much more wholesome content

Based Brah, its the same thing that makes him a true squid, refusal to submit to some shitty faggot system that tells us how to live. Youtube as a whole has started to become really fucking censored and gay in general, all thats allowed are videos that are just overglorified ads for PRODUCTS. Talking about how you bought a new bike for 20 soul destroying minutes = gud, doing whoolies with said bike and having fun = bad. I can't even watch Brian anymore, dude is doing some cringe fucking giveaway every video e-begging for likes and all the rest.

Wish we could return to old youtube before google turned the entire site into a money grubbing arms-race to beat the "algorithm" for extra influencer dollars.

>>28616686

How hard would it be to restore a motorcycle with no garage and no wrenching experience (besides one(1) oil change). I want to buy a CB-1 400. Bike is running, low miles, just hasn't been ridden for a while.
It needs a carb rebuild and tune, valve adjustment, new tires and a good overall maintenance. Wiring harness is in good condition, tank and and frame OK etc...
I have a 3 digits-IQ and can have access to tools. I'm a casual rider and don't use the bike to commute but the end goal is to have it be a daily and touring bike. Like I said I'm a total wrenchlet and I'd be doing most of everything on my apartment outdoor parking area. Am I getting in over my head with this?

so that’s what that scruffy feeling was all about .. bikes got 12k miles didn’t realize how fast the pads went. Slowly (slowly) learning how to maintain my bikes.
>>
>>28616900
Front pads? If so that's a lot of miles (although you shouldn't be letting them run that low), I don't remember exactly but I probably got more like 8-10k out of mine and both me and my bike are light and I don't do a lot of hard braking from high speeds.
>>
>>28616911
right on yeah it’s the fronts. I don’t know why I thought they would go longer, but all the miles have been screwing around and hardly any croozin so I guess that’s pretty good. Took 20 minutes after investing 30 watching youtubes and consulting torque spec autistically. Still managed to damn near strip one of the piece of shit 6mm allen caliper bolts. will be ordering a replacement for next time

Buying a 2009 CBR600RR BUT I have a serious question.
I checked out the bike, it looks super clean and everything is pretty much good to go. It's well maintained, operates well, does what it needs to do... EXCEPT... It doesn't totally make a priming "hum". It's super quiet and just makes 2 clicking noises. Yet, it starts just fine? My current bike, I can hear it priming very clearly, but this bike didn't make any distinct noise. When I asked him about it, he said it was normal.
He also has receipts of a recent check up done just last year, that did not have anything like this mentioned and it has (apparently) been in storage since. Pls halp.

Dang, I really did not want to have i deal with a dealer for the katana... no chance I walk out paying less than $10k, and at that point I just feel silly for spending than much on a katana instead of a hayabusa
The hayabusa just has a wrap on it, it's silver underneath. I think the wrap looks okay, would have to get rid of the extended swingarm though

R7 is the best in its class, so I don't get the hate either. Stock R7 is just as fast as track prepared SV650.
You can get more power from the CP2, it's easier to work on, etc.

Some people are too stupid to understand it never meant to replace an R6, it meant to BTFO the SV650 from the track.

Suzuki was too retarded to give us an SV650R so Team Blue it is.

Because Kawi didn't name the 650 "ZX650R" after removing the actual ZX6R from the line up in a sad attempt to trick people into buying a shitbike LARPing as a supersport.

>>28617469
> it never meant to replace an R6
Top kek, yes it was, the entire thing was designed to sell the LAR7P CP2 as a R6 replacement. Why do you think they disconnected the actual supersport and used its naming scheme for the LAR7P?
