i still can't believe we live in a time line where Ford made this thing, and actually got really good results with it. everything about it on paper suggest it should've been a mess.

Weird looking civic.
>>
Its a Mustang with stab wounds. You have no way of knowing if its some shitty Roush/Advance Autoparts specual with a Borla exhaust.
>>
>>28615936
Because the average normie thinks it's a 40k car with a bodykit.
>>

Because that crowd mostly consists of lesser races, and they only care for bmw's.

This, mustangs just never can be exotic vehicles no matter how much, if it rides on the some platform as a 2.0 egoboost rental car, the zoomies don't wanna fw it, it's too mass produced.
>>
>>28616053
Gtd is a ground up car that looks like a mustang. It's not actually one.

>Zoomies are connoisseurs
Please y'all literally are afraid to drive.
>>
>>28616056
>Gtd is a ground up car that looks like a mustang
That's not good enough to charge a lot of money, it has to be exotic if you're gonna want big money for it, Imagine a car that drove like a Ferrari, but looked like a Camry, people wouldn't give a shit about anything that looks like their mom's car.
>>
>>28615936

Mustangs are regular traffic, snd specisl edition mustangs have been a thing for a while. Nobody looked at the Shelbys or saleens either, so why look at the GTD when it is just another mustang
>>
>>28616164
Kek there was a motherfucker at my old apartment with a Roush V6 Mustang, he literally covered it all the time as if it were some sort of collector item when it's a special edish of the least desirable mustang, it's getting to the point where there are so many fucking special editions of everything, that nothing is special anymore, even BMW ///M isn't special anymore because a fucking mom can buy an SUV with that badge on there.

No they fucking don't Anon, and I like Jap cars but that's fucking silly to say a Mercedes benz from the 70s-90s looked like a Camry from the period is just wrong.

Its not stealth wealth, it is peak low class Nuevo riche. High class nuevo get McLaren's while the low class (who still want a mustang from when they were poor) will get the bestest on paper mustang. GTD's are not noticed because mustangs in general are not noticed, not because they actually blend into traffic like a lexus does

>>
>>28616510
This, also if you're truly stealth wealth, you're driving a shitbox Honda or Toyota with clapped paint you got at the bottom of the depreciation curve so you don't lose money, Land Cruisers and LS500 Lexuses are great and subdued, but they're still letting everybody know you're spending $70,000-$90,000 on a car, it's not that stealthy
>>
They're not looking because they know the c8 zr1 is a much better car for half the price

Shrimple as that
>>
>>28616522
Sorry its not the 2010's anymore everyonr knows the "rich people drive shitboxes!" meme is a joke. Rich drive understanded wealthy cars like higest possible end toyotas, lexus's, mercedes E-classes, BMW's in ehite or blsck only, and other things that are just enough special to not be regular traffic, but understated enough to be ignored. Drivinv a shitbox just means you are poor or hate cars
>>
>>28615936
Mustangs are uniquely boring for some reason. More than any other vehicle they're all the same.
>>
>>28616540
It is because they have existed to be the official vehicle of bringing performance to the working man. Because of that, they are just an alternative purchase to a Toyota camry, rather than being seen as a rival to sports cars (even though they kind of are, they are just cheaper gt cars). Perception makes them out to just be a standard car
>>
I make a point to not look at nice cars in public because I don’t want to feed someone’s ego
>>
>>28615949
>And no one is impressed by money
Literally everybody is you mongoloid. That's what keep the wheels of this dreadful machine turning.
>>
>>28616599
I think what he's trying to say is no one is breaking their neck over something that looks like a mustang no matter how much money you say you paid, obviously the "it" factor of an expensive rare car is key to getting people to look, but no mustangs have it, guys like us can spot a sweet ass flat plane GT350 and think "wow what a cool car", but your average normie can't tell the difference between an ecoboost or whatever this thing is supposed to be.
>>
>>28616602
I would agree woth this, i would also say that really unless you try to flex with an ecoboost, than no one really cars about what type of mustang you got. All mjstangs are the same mustang to normies at first look, and most normies only look once.
>>
>>28616308
We're old now "dude."
>>
>>28615936

If Ford wanted Mustangs to be cool they should make rally versions and run races with them.
>>
>>28615936
>buy $350,000 car
>will never be able to drive it the way it was intended because the value would crater
>becomes a dedicated cars and coffee vehicle
>forced to park next to subhuman ecoboost owners
>maybe 2 or 3 people know what it is
do they check if you have a humiliation fetish before selling you this car?
>>
>>28616864
This, it's so cringe to see Ferarri culture of not driving cars seeping into everyday brands, having to pay over sticker, getting allocations, you buy a ford or a honda to walk in there and get a fucking car, not pay for the privilege of having a car.
>>
>>28616599
No, we're impressed by cool shit. Cool shit usually costs money, so there is a direct relationship. But spending a lot of money on something doesn't make it cool. I've seen people walk past super exotics to get a look at a $500 shitbike.
>>
>>28616594
Honestly.
Same.
>>
>>28615936
North America isn't like Europe where there's a bunch of autistic as fuck "car spotters" chasing after anything worth over $100k. People here walk by multi million dollar cars without even batting an eye.

it is though
>>

Because it's the ford answer to a Viper but with a gay mustang body kit that looks like something you'd put on your v6
>But it's built from the ground up!
Yeah and it looks like a $30k car with a $10k bodykit despite that.
Reminder a Streethunter made a GTD replica body kit for GT mustangs at $6,500 that looked so similar Ford sued them to never produce it, and that was after they intentionally did not replicate the wing.
>>
>>28618092
>Because it's the ford answer to a Viper but with a gay mustang body kit that looks like something you'd put on your v6
This. There was zero reason to make this a "mustang GTD" aside from boomer namefaggotry attachment to the Mustang name. They could have made it a ground up new model with different styling, like a Ford Viper, but no it had to be MUH MUSTANG to appeal to the retards who can't afford it and hopefully push them toward buying a regular mustang.
>>
They could have just called it the gtd and nobody would have questioned whatever styling and branding they came out with
>>
>>28617732
>Drivinv a shitbox just means you are poor or hate cars
Did you forget to read that part? Taylor likrs airplanes not cars, so a camry is an a to b appliance to her.
>>
>>28618125
>>28618100
Same with the mach e, coild have been valled that and people would care about it more. Problem is that ford wants to reintroduce cars again since their trucks are having issues and their SUV's are not selling, but cant because their money people cant justify another focus or escort, so they just slap 'mustang' on all cars now to get it through development. There is going to be a 4 door mustang called the "mustang mach 4" soon

This, also the interior of an average shitbox is so expensive looking and good now, they're pretty much all luxury cars.
>>

>>

Its built to homologate the race car. how can it be in response to a car that hasn't been in production for nearly 10 years. its like one of the people in the OP's pic who has no idea what they're even looking at came to post ITT.
>>
>>28618578
Don't be obtuse, it's obviously not a racing competitor to the Viper but it occupies the same slot as the ultra-performance halo vehicle priced well above the rest of the brand and meant to be a track beast. Ford hasn't had one of those (under half a million dollars) since the 2006 GT (which is now worth over half a million dollars second hand).
They have a big corvette-shaped hole in their lineup and filled it with a car that costs 50% more than a ZR1, looks like a riced out ecoboost with a Porsche GT3 inspired kit, and is slower than the ' vette.
The complaint is that there was no need to make the race car a mustang externally.
>>
>>28618593
Its not a Halo car at all. its built out of obligation so Ford can make the mustang more competitive in the new GT3 class. the "hole" you speak of with the corvette is still there. the mustang GTD was not built to fill that (it'll likely only last 2 or 3 model years). it was built because Ford wanted representation in motorsports, and its easier to branch out from the Mustang than to design an entirely new car like the GT again. this car fills the same role the 2016 Ecboost GT filled.

Ford hasn't had a Halo car since the 2005 Ford GT (made to uplift the brand and not out of obligation). the 2016 GT and the current Mustang GTD are just homolagation specials. they're expensive because they aren't priced to sell and the volume isn't there.
>>
>becomes first burger car to get under 6 minutes
>gets immediately beaten by GM
>has to cope and get the supervan
The GTD can only hope to redeem itself with race wins, otherwise it is an expensive failure
>>
>1000 pounds heavier
>barely faster than a almost decade older car despite having better tires, DCT, electronics, forced induction, more power and DRS
If its trying to be a Viper analogue like you niggers claim then its doing a terrible job at it, no matter that it still gets beaten even harder by the Viper's bastard son.
>>
>>28618633
>It did it in 6 minutes so that means under 6 minutes
Zoomer moment. I bet you think we're in the 20th century too fucking retard.
>>
>>28615936
I'm glad the headlights finally connect to the grille again. That's where every stang before and after the S197 went wrong, they stop looking like mustangs when you give them normal headlights.
>>
>>28615936
I went to a car show and some gen X finance bro brought a fucking gt2000 and nobody cared. No boomer board, wasn't even in excellent condition since he just bought it, it just looked like [an car] but it was glorious
