It's like these two demographics can't conceive of doing something outside the box.
Why can't millennials accept that they're a subhuman failed generation that's getting older and more irrelevant with every passing second?
>>28619221Gen Z humor is so weird. Lol, I guess.
>>28619197A five year old forum post made you so asshurt you killed a thread on this very board. Why? Did they ban you for necroing there?
>>28619197Traction control is a good thing in every situation outside of performance driving. I'm not sure what your contention is.
>>28619295>tries to drive on snow>ACK
when I turned the traction control off in my bmw the car would barely start moving because one wheel was just spinninghad to put in an lsd
>>28619197Because they played GTA5 instead of GTA4.
>>28619197wut? Boomers think winter tires are bullshit and cars didn't have traction control or abs when we started driving.
>>28619397This, my car got kinda stuck in snow but it did a sick ass burnout and got out, meanwhile TCS will just keep you stuck.
>>28619270If probably wasnt a very good thread anyway.
>>28619432I'm sure it was better than this one.
>>28619295And even in most parts of performance driving it's far more capable than (you)
>>28619537>>28619270I didn’t necro anything, I was watching a guy driving someone’s jaguar and the car kept understeering and trying to send him into walls. Then once the owner figured out how to turn it off everyhing was much more predictable. It’s good for the elderly and maybe women, that’s about it.
>>28619221Boomers are worthless like Zoomers
>>28619568>I was watching a guy driving someone’s jaguar When, in 2020?
>>28619197>mfw own a car with an abs pump defect>manufacturer never recalled it>drove without traction control or abs for over a decadeI've never really encountered a scenario where I really needed it, and this is accounting for that I deliberately get into slides, jump the car, and just throw the car out of grip a lot. I guess I miss having better ice braking but that's about it.
My boomer lawyer relative was driving me around in his Ferrari 458 saying how my kid won't even get to drive when he grows up, it will all be self-driving mandated.Boomers are just fucking retarded all around.
>>28620192This, they don't even care how fucked anyone else after them is, I know Sammy jokes about it but you really can't give a shit about boomers dying or getting abused by niggers.
>>28619221Hope your boomer sugar daddy sees this, bro
>>28619197Because new cars are designed with traction control in mind. Their handling is substantially more twitchy than the pre-TCS/ESP iterations, they're meant to be driven with stability control on.Power is higher, sidewalls are thinner, and roadfeel is nonexistant. If TCS weren't on every new car, tons of normies would be getting themselves killed pushing their numb riceboxes past the limit.>>28619295Well-programmed traction control (better yet, torque vectoring) is better than a human driver
>>28619397you're a very stupid person
>>28620810Kekd, captcha gay
It has nothing to do with zoomers or boomers or any other generation it's just people who don't know anything about driving because they've never raced or been near a track in their life and they never will be. This exists is every subculture on the internet it's just a bunch of wanking retards with dunning kruger.I've never driven a single car, even expensive ones, with the stock traction control programming that wasn't horribly invasive and unpredictable. It's a baby gate for retards, it's not any more serious than that.
>>28619221At least we have better than a 40% literacy rate. Dumbass.
>>28620810tOrQuE vEcTorIng BrO.It's not 1991. Any contemporary sport car with TSC is using torque vectoring. You can stop differentiating them.
>>286201732025
>>28620810>Because new cars are designed with traction control in mind.Sort of like the 737 MAX was designed with MCAS in mind? That has killed 346 people (so far) in only a few short years. Adding traction control doesn't make the limits of physics go away. Not sure why manufacturers don't understand this.
>>28623040Says 2020 in the screenshot. Tough luck finding anything more recent?
>Pulls ABS fuseShrimple as that. I fucking hate stability control. No, I don't want to understeer my RWD car when I give it full steering and mash the throttle at 20mph. I expect the car to slide, and it's dangerous when it makes me understeer in a straight line instead.
>>28623098>dumb zoomer can't understand wordshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDQ2K_wfe80&t=2s
>>28624762So the guy you said you were watching, that wasn't even IRL? You become so mad at some youtuber you had to create a thread about it, then you spent time to get a screenshot from old boomer forums because you're too dumb to cut a short piece of video from youtube and convert it to webm?Hilarious, this board just can't cease to amaze me.
>>28623110you're not better at braking than abs and literally never will be.
>>28619197Guy named his user name after Bruce Hornsby lmao.
>>28624820He isn't saying he is better than abs. He is saying that he likes how the car oversteers on trailbraking instead of the car understeering randomly when tc / sc kicks in. Please just lurk, all this time you wasted learning about cars and you still don't know anything.
>>28624820I never said I was better at braking than ABS. I actually like ABS. Consistently braking better than ABS is almost impossible because the threshold to where it locks is a constantly moving target that changes with speed and weight shift, there isn't a magical point on the brake pedal where it's always just before lock.Traction and stability control are built into the ABS system though. My first after college job was quality engineering in an ABS factory, I know the deal.I wish there were an option to have ABS without traction and stability control, but stability control was federally mandated ~15 years ago so the only way to truly remove ESP is to pull the ABS fuse. I drove and tracked a '90s car without ABS for 12 years, everyone drove without ABS for a century. I can handle it and find the tradeoff acceptable because ESP (stability control) really grinds my gears.
>>28624904based. I've started to lock up the brakes in a car without ABS before and you just naturally start pumping. Wasn't a big deal at all desu. I'd still prefer ABS on, because it's one less thing to worry about, but it's not some big scary thing to drive without it. People should worry more about boiling their brake fluid driving down a mountain, or having good tires in the first place to be able to stop in time, since those are much more realistic scenarios.
>>28619197I knew someone whose car got some water damage the caused traction control to not work and they refused to drive it because they said the car was just uncontrollable. I think he was millenial.>>28620810Makes sense, just slop together an suv and let the electronics hide the faults. I think maybe it was better for normies when a sedan took 13 seconds to get to 60, at least they could mash the throttle while jerking the steering wheel and not bother anyone.
>>28619221holy shit you got the millenials rattled with this onedefinitely the gayest generation currently alive
>>28620541hes a jew
>>28619197i'm honestly surprised nobody has manufactured a aftermarket ABS unit that deletes the TC/ESP partmy first and second cars were opel omegas, the second one had a faulty abs unit and i didn't bother fixing itnot being able to fully turn off ESP on my meredes c class is infuriating to say the leastthe kompressor engine is brilliant and i like the handling except for when ESP cuts my fun outi honestly regret not getting a e46 just because of ESP
>>28619197on snowy winters i prefer cars without absnow hear me outabs is okay on wet corners but if fucked up enough that abs kicks in then your trajectory is already fucked up and you will end in ditchbut on straight for example when truck pulls from side road you need maximum brakingif I lock my brakes I start accumulating snow in front of me and that weight slows me downif I have abs my wheels will keep slipping on fresh powdery snow and I will never stop
>>28619197>TexanThese people can't drive in any conditions other than dry with full sun.
Back in the day traction control was the lack of power.Only way to compensate was wider or better tires.>t. Millenial that had several shitboxes without abs and traction control
