>brakes are worn out>replace them at auto repair place>they squeal like hell and fail in 3 months>replace them again at different repair place>they squeak and fail againThem's the breaks I guess. This has never happened before, what the fuck are they making these things out of now? I don't drive my car like the police so it can't be my driving habits.
>>28620878It's not the brakes it's the useless techs, you fuckwit. I've ran dura golds and they are entirely decent for DD activities.
>>28620878Are you replacing just the pads, or also doing rotors at the same time?
>>28620892Brakes & rotors. both times.
>>28620894That pretty much just leaves defective parts, sticking calipers, or installer error (not lubing the slide pins/pad ears, etc).
>>28620908It's the fuckwit techs. They don't wire the slides on the calipers, they probably don't use new clips or sufficiently clean the old ones, they don't regrease anything, like it's the fucking techs it's always the techs.I've never had a squeaking problem with even the shittiest of rock auto pads because I do my own brakes and thus take the time required to do it properly because it's my own car and im not getting a flat rate or making $13 an hour.
>>28620894you replaced the rotors twice within 3 months? are you genuinely retarded?
>>28620894you are a textbook example of a victim of marketing. rotors last 2-3 times longer than pads yet you throw away perfectly reusable parts and pay extra for that>but it will wear unevenly or somethingIt wont
>>28620979Rotors were warped
>>28621046>warpednot a thing unless you're driving a gt3p car at le mans that still happens to have steel rotors from 1995.the runout was shit from the factory (shitty cheap chinese junk) or you have a bad hub/wheel bearing.
>>28621071>not a thingwrenchlet, NTA, kys
>>28621073>he thinks his toyota camry from 1994 is warping rotorsyikes, stop posting anytime boomer
>>28620878>brakes...failExpand upon this please
>>28621046Just get them machined.
>>28620979they can "warp" temporarily but it's caused mostly by improper installation, can be simply uneven lugnut torque.the uneven wear caused by being driven for a long time in a badly-torqued or uneven state is what most people think brake disc warping is. it's not caused by heat or your pads but by the monkey using the ugga dugga gun to put your wheel back on and not checking his work
>>28620878Are you beeding in the pads?Kinda important.
>>28621073Not that anon, butI've never seen a warped brake rotor. I Track cars all the time. Worked as a mechanic.Never once have I seen a warped rotor.
>>28620878The last 2 sets of pads That I bought has the tabs a bit too large. They fit in with force but pads should slide in without much force at all. I had to grind the tabs down to fit.
>>28620878Do that shit yourself. Wire brush everything clean, lube it up, and then in 8 years when your pads are toast, go to VatoZone and get a new set of Duralasts for free because they give you a lifetime guarantee!I almost felt guilty taking new pads for free because there’s no fucking reason they should give you free pads after years of driving on them.
>>28621071>not a thingAbsolutely a thing. These days I'm a lot lighter on brakes now that I don't drive downhill that much, but even then my mechanic asks me why I always burn my rotors with heat spots, but I just like flying in hot.
>>28621071This >>28621073>>28621755Get a driver’s license and a wrench and you will see (or feel) warped rotors one day.
>>28621755stop resting on the brakes at a stop if you actually use them hard. all of the heat transfers to the rotor
>>28620878This is what you need.
>>28620878Sounds like failure to lubricate shims/sliders, and likely something wrong with at least 1 rotor. Remember to always replace rotors in pairs. You might be able to get them turned, but good luck finding a shop that still does that.
>>28622415>stop resting on the brakes at a stop if you actually use them hardbut how else are you meant to keep stopped
'Warped rotors' are almost always a consequence of bad installation/bolts not torqued to spec equally, riding them slightly harder than usual is just the straw that breaks the camel's back.
>>28622415boomer science
>>28620878always buy the most expensive pads and rotors you can find. worth every penny. don't get the chinese junk and you'll be fine. i do either OEM or top of the line ones from either powerstop, bosch, etc. got tired of rotors warping after 3k miles.
>>28622031They arent warped you fucking dumbshit. you arent warping cast iron rotors. The runout is shit from the factory or you have a bad wheel bearing or hub issue. it's a fact, period. your retarded as boomer science that your grandpappy taught you isn't real.dumbass oil tech brain LMAO
