It doesn't need to be anything special like the japs do. It's simple and on the point, easily recognizable by everyone, even the most braindead normies recognize it.
It's also probably one of the only logos that has barely changed along the years

That was never the official logo on the cars at least. BMW ceased almost all automotive production around 1940 with the last ones leaving the shop in 41, focusing entirely on bike and aircraft engine production.
T. Owned a 1940 BMW 321 "waterfall grille" and a 1942 BMW R75.

Its simple, elegant and timeless.
Enough detail to be more eye appealing than 63 and 2020
But not over done and gaudy like 17 and 33 with the gold accents
53 just looks awful. not enough color, and that font in white looks like shit.
