What are some /o/ jobs?

Basically this.

Unfortunately the best paying engineering jobs in /o/ almost have nothing to do with cars. Usually business functions like software, data analytics, or even just marketing actually have most pay and opportunity. It's so bad that most of the car is designed in India or lowest bidding consultancy services with the OEM's basically being integrators to farm out quotations to suppliers. The only way to sort of escape this is if you do in-vehicle validation as an engineer - ideally for some sort of software function. Unfortunately these roles are really competitive.

If you want to be close to cars and make good money with a low barrier to entry, it's unironically better to just be a commission based car salesman. I've even met engineers who made this transition because it just pays bills better and you don't have to get stuck in fucking Michigan. Everything else is a race to the bottom.\

create a youtube channel of you buying wreckers and fixing them.
if you've got a decent personality, you can get a million subs and make a living out of it.
Failing that, join the Navy as an Engineman.

How do I make a living as a commission based car salesman without having to work 13 hour days 7 days a week and/or letting my manager sodomize me? Obviously the answer is go work for a luxury dealer but those don't hire anyone who doesn't have a long history of sales with a good track record.

Horseshit, the only job I ever had in car sales was Alfa Romeo and Maserati. I had never even had retail work before that. If you can sell your candidacy to a manager, you can sell a car. And if you can sell a car, you can get out of your own way when a customer starts to sell themselves on it

if you want to do nothing, you will get nothing. You don't want to work? You don't get to eat. Simple as.
>for a useless retard?
if you are an introverted, autist, detail-oriented perfectionist- maybe put that to use. Learn to tig-weld all sort of metals. Learn to join some cool stainless steel pipes together and how to bend them to shape. You might make some money from people wanting custom metal art work. Make some high-performance exhaust or engine components with welding. You want to survive in this world? Provide something to the world and other people around you with value so they can keep you alive.

When I worked in dispatch I met a decent amount of drivers who seemed to have literal room-temp IQs but were still doing pretty well for themselves. If it's possible for you, look into getting your CDL. If it isn't, maybe you could become a yard driver.

if you're in the UK, you can work as a blood courier for the NHS. Basically driving around a big bike, getting blood and organs between hospitals for surgery.

Call center jobs pay well. Usually pay around 30% more over min wage. It’s not six figurss, but most are remote and you can live in low cost cities to really be comfortable.
>>
>>28626118
Anything about actually developing or working on cars? Fucked. What people don't tell you in engineering school is that this is basically one of the few industries that are flooded with applicants and has only been scaling down in employment since 2010s
>>
>>28627091
How the exhaust market has managed to stay as lots of small shops welding tiny pieces into pipes instead of a few big companies dominating it with mandrel-bent stuff is beyond me.
>>
>>28627088
So do you just walk in and say you'd like a job selling cars there? What did you do about your resume considering you had no sales/retail experience? Or are resumes not a thing in Italy? I feel like I'd get laughed out of the building if I tried this at my local Audi or Mini dealership, or they'd just think I was doing some dumb tiktok shit.

its a wonder right. I think part of it is market exposure. The nicer pre-made catback exhaust- (especially the made in Japan tuning kind) are a sort of niche product. It is somewhat difficult for the average person to source, purchase and then ship. While they can just roll into some retarded muffler shop in their town. The custom stainless fabricators only need to do one or two jobs per month and it pays all their bills. I remember getting a roll-cage built for my drift car a couple years back and it cost me stacks to get done. It's not cheap.
