I'm tired of coping bros. EVs are just better. They are faster, just unbelievably faster. Their torque curve is a fucking flat line. They can pack more horsepower into a smaller frame. The only downside is the battery and really that doesn't matter 99.999% of the time. The only thing EVs don't have is that rumbling v8, screaming v12, etc. That's all they are missing. They're just better. I keep saying they have no soul, they're just appliances, etc. Yeah, a lot of them are boring, but holy flaming fuck the fast ones? Plaid, Sapphire, Turbo GT... that shit is just next level.I will buy one when they depreciate a bit more. Blast the fuck off at every light. Maybe if CAFE hadn't ruined v8, v12, and bigblock tech progression. Maybe ICE would have stood a chance. I don't know. Fuck it.EVs are going to win. They are just better.

>>28628772> They are faster, just unbelievably faster. not even true, they are also heavier and have a low top speed.EV's give instant 100% power but they drop off due to having no gears. A tesla model S plaid can only go 200mph (with optional brake package) which is the same speed as an 80s porsche or lambo.
>>28628830That's not fast
>>28628836>and have a low top speed. How often do you go faster than 200km/h poser fag?
EVs are the future. LFP batteries are cheap and durable. The biggest hurdle against mass adoption (unreliable battery) is now a thing of the past. The battery is now the most durable part in an EV. Once solid state is standard and cheap, ICE will have no place but in some die hard hearts.

I was pretty stubborn about moving on from using torrents and warez sites for my music and movies. I didn't really get into spotify and pirate streams till 2015 and it was significantly better.I was pretty stubborn about using cabled headphones. When I finally moved onto bluetooth and experienced wandering around my home without my device in my pocket - it was a game changer.I suspect EV's will be the exact same experience. Stubbornly late to the party with a bullshit excuse that lacks insight into how much better it is going to be.Till then I'll continue with my oil burning machine.

>>28628844Under 6 second acceleration to 60 is objectively fast. People used to pay a premium to get that kinda speed in a car, even if it seems ordinary today. Most commuter traffic is going to be 7+.
>>28629148It's not objectively fast. It was fast in the 60s, sure. But by that logic doing 0-60 in 15 seconds is still fast because a Model T couldn't even do 60mph.
>>28629148Any ancient 4banger 1.5l shitbox will do under 6 seconds with junkyard special td04 slapped on.
>>286291920-60 in under 6s puts you in the "objectively fast on civilian roads" bracket. Numbers aren't really available on this kind of thing for Europe. But objectively my 5.5s car is faster than most things on the road except premium sportcars or the highest end german cars.If those are the only cars faster than mine then objectively it is sitting in a top % of cars on the road.If the only standard you will consider is extremely high end porsches etc with a <4 second 0-60 then I'd say that's a pretty retarded scale. Since at that point there is really only fractions of a second left to push in on and at that point you need precision timing equipment to notice.

>>28629359>maybe 40-80 are the only metrics I really care aboutRolling acceleration is probably the most important thing in fast road driving, which big displacement petrol cars are still just about the king of. >>28629359>The flaw is the weight, that's about it.It's also shitty energy density of a battery compared to gas cars, which if you had an iq of over 100, you'd realize is pretty major in coming to the conclusion that ICE is still superior to EV
>>28629617Something rarely discussed with EVs is that it lessens Western reliance on Russia / Arabs. This is why governments want it. It's far preferrable to put additional strain on a nation's power supply than to have your country reliant on how Putin is feeling. It's not about the planet. It's just that it's an objective fact that there is a limited supply of oil and a lot of it sits on the turf of our political enemies. It simply bolsters a countrie's self reliance. Which is why China fucking loves it for their own country too.
>>286296291 - China is seeding the shit out of their society with EVs to improve the chances of their isolation dome happening2 - China makes batteries but does not control power grids, less vehicles on the road relying on oil - the less impact a dirty protest by Russia / Arabs has3 - The USA is a fucking joke right now and your country is not reflective of where the rest of the west is heading. >>28628772I will redpill you on tesla's and all EV vehicles. I have seen this youtuber take a couple Tesla Model S Plaid around the nurburgring. every time he does it shows how much EV is actually lacking. Electricity as an energy source is very powerful. but it lacks in the endurance aspect. he takes a nearly fully charged Tesla around 1 lap and it goes from 95% to 53%. so electric vehicles are very fast and very good at generating power, but ultimately electric vehicles are crap when it comes to ANY kind of endurance racing that would be longer than 15 minutes. in addition there is an electric vehicle out there breaking records. but its a one trick pony. it keeps smashing record times but its honestly is a gimmick. it and EV that uses a giant fan to create downforce while being super light weight. but thats all the car can really do, one, maybe 2 laps, then the car is done. like i said EV"s are a one trick pony. but when you get past these cars winning internet drag races and you really start to understand how they will never compete in real track racing, you will start hating EV's. its impressive what they accomplish with them. but electricity as an energy source just sucks compared to gas. https://youtu.be/m4uJFpoR6Q0?si=bZGYvmh2_pQW2Wlfhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JYp9eGC3Cc

>>28630557Murica tells itself that but the reality is that they are watching as they slide into losing their place. Your entire country has been so heavily propagandized with Dj Khalid level "We The Best" for a century that you can't even see the decay going on before you. Here you are, probably a reasonable enough human being away from the internet - all worked up about EVs because your politics are sponsored by oil barons. You are celebrating looking out for the interests of people who do not care about you at all lol.The sanctions on EVs by Murica and the West are to prevent China taking over too quickly but they can't rock the boat too hard. But most countries are still offering a lot of advantages to EVs and beginning to tax ICE heavier. There is still a lot of subtle subsidies available that aren't directly linked to the government but still exist. For instance you can only get hybrids or EVs through salary sacrifice schemes at government jobs now.EVs will take over major cities within a decade for most of the West. Murica will have some sort of weird last stand while your oil barons still have enough influence over government to create barriers to access. But ultimately it's already happened. You just aren't ready to admit it.The oil will run out. Cars will need to continue.
>>28630547>>28629864The Plaid strawman is real. The point was never that it was the fastest possible vehicle that can ever exist. It's that it requires zero modifications and can consistently crank out max performance on the streets on street tires while carrying groceries and a car seat.

>>28628772Who cares about speed? Speed does not trump a car that is just all around fun to drive. They cannot put a manual transmission stick shifter in an electric car, which I prefer when I'm driving.
>>28630775You can have manual electric cars, it's pretty much pointless but you can have it.
>>28630579It would be a great improvement by comparison if we were actually sponsored by oil barons.Unfortunately, politics in the US has been sponsored by the whig theocracy instead for the past ~200 years (ivy leagues, georgetown, cia, et cetera).
i don't think the average person, like someone buying a 2025 camry, give a shit whether it's ICE or EV. it's just an appliance to them.at the same time, I cannot really see anybody into cars giving a shit about basically any cars past the 1990s with few exceptions. ICE vs EV doesn't really enter the picture and is so irrelevent as to be a pointless topic. They're all released from the 2010s onward, when everything has sucked for over a decade already. It doesn't even matter anymore.
