Guys what do you think of this carhttps://www.autodepottn.com/inventory/ford/expedition/rf17525/It had a front right collision that took out the headlight and they rebuilt it, but they're selling it for $4k with a 3 month warranty. Should i do it?

>>28628911You need a big SUV with a V8? Prices on those were higher than I was expecting, haven't been in the market for one myself. That Expedition you found is actually a better deal than I thought. You'd need it checked by a mechanic to make sure it was rebuilt properly; but its not a bad deal if it was. I found it online and it looks like its in good shape. Here are two more to consider near you.https://memphis.craigslist.org/cto/d/cordova-2005-ford-expedition-eddie/7877215438.htmlhttps://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?bodyTypeGroupIds=7&distance=100&engines=V8&maxMileage=160000&maxPrice=10000&sortDir=ASC&sortType=PROXIMITY&startYear=2000&zip=37075#listing=424169630/NONE/DEFAULT
>>28628919thank you for looking that up for me. i'm gonna try to find a mechanic who will look it over for a couple hundred dollars
OP that seems like a pretty good deal. For 4k you can't really be too picky. Main concern for me would be the transmission. Big SUVs tend to wear them out around 150-200k miles. Listen for ticking from the cam phasers on startup. Check fb market too. The market for full size v8 SUVs is soft right now. I live nearby and saw pic rel listed by a dealer in Gallatin. Wonder if they still have it
>>28628896I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for that clapper
4k doesn't seem too bad to me. Interior looks clean. Buy it, drive the shit out of it until everything starts blowing up and then sell it cheap or part it out.

At 200k miles 5.4 do a full timing set. If oil was maintained phasers are ok probably. 5w20 doesn't help top endI use0w40. Make sure you get cast iron tensioners. Also put in an oil pump with steel backing plate. Various options out there6r80 is serviceable. Gotta use the tiny dipstick next to the cat converter. Change heater hose above pass side cylinder head , leaky ass plastic bitchTranny cooler hoses can fail, check out YouTube on that. Can be fixed if they didn't failI used Valvoline max life atf no problem. Shifts just like before (fluid was good , was conducting preventative maintenance)If you want 5.4 last forever run an oil prelube pump so tensioners never rattle. T. 200k mile explodition
