As a point of fact, indeed I own several vehicular conveyances, each particularly suited to my mood and interests on the day of traveling.

Surely this doesn't elicit surprise.

I love this thing like you wouldn't believe.
Stage 2 ECU 91 octane
Stage 2 TCU
Overhauled Suspension

The ride quality is a bit stiff, but it's still doable as a daily driver and it's an absolute monster. Plus massaging front seats and heated steering wheel is a game changer.
>>
>>28642165
One of my engineers (east asian, not jeet) bought one of these. I was pretty impressed with the massaging seats, much better than I expected them to be.
The paint on it was super thin though and was peeling like crazy for a car that new but I think he got it repainted under warranty.
tldr; nice choice.
>>
>>28642165
These are really nice, yeah. If I'm nitpicking super hard I would complain about them going away from the DSG in favor of the ZF, but a ZF is fine too. And as much as I love the previous supercharged version of the 3.0T, you can't argue with the results of going turbo. These things are actually pretty darn reliable but don't get credit for it like the B58 does.

What did you do to the suspension on yours?

I haven't heard of any paint issues, that's the first time. Granted the moment I got this I did a full 10-year ceramic coat so I shouldn't have any paint issues for a while.
Maybe the colour changes the thickness of the paint? This Daytona Gray has pretty significant depth and the detailer said he prefers these cars because of the thicker paint. He would not stop complaining about how thin the paint is on Teslas.

>>28642215
Yeah, it's kind of bittersweet. I mean on one hand the dual clutch transmission would give you launch control and faster shifting. On the other hand, the dual clutch also requires routine service. 40,000 mi, has had a few known issues with things like the mechatronic unit, and I think is significantly more expensive to maintain and repair over the life of the car.

The zf8 transmission is pretty darn quick, especially when you get a stage 2 tune on it, but the biggest benefit to it is you never ever have to touch it. Audi doesn't even have a recommended service interval for the zf8 and when I called the manufacturer they told me they recommend fluid and filter change at 93,000 mi with no limit on age. It might not have the peak performance of a dual clutch but it's very close and it's bulletproof.

I like both the 3 l supercharged and the 3 l turbo. They're both very fun. They just kind of have their own quirks. For example, the 3 l supercharged engine is super easy to get high horsepower figures on, but it's more difficult to get high torque figures. The supercharger obviously doesn't have lag on input which is awesome. But when the 500 ft lb of torque on a stage 2 3 L turbocharged kicks in, you won't really care. It throws you back like if you were on a roller coaster and honestly the lag isn't that terrible. I think it starts kicking in right around 2000 RPM so you're only really going to notice it starting from a standstill.

Suspension is 034 lowering springs factory dampeners and 034 rear sway bar.

Yeah, pros and cons all around. Me, I'm just such a big fan of DSGs that I think they're worth the extra bit of maintenance. They're pretty bulletproof in their own right *so long as they're not neglected. That's why used ones are always such a gamble, you just don't know.
>Suspension is 034 lowering springs factory dampeners and 034 rear sway bar.
Nice, nice and simple. I always hear people say to just go straight to coilovers but 034 seems to make good enough springs to stand on their own. And rear sway bar is huge too. Gotta love mods with no downside.

The rear sway bar was such a game changer, The car stays absolutely flat through turns now. I thought about also doing the front sway bar but you have to drop the subframe and it's a whole big thing.

We will see how long the factory dampeners last, if they fail I think I'll flip a coin whether or not I get aftermarket dampeners or just move to coilovers. I think the main appeal of coilovers is that you get to avoid the extra labour cost of mating springs to dampeners which allows you to get pretty high quality coilovers and install them for about the same price unless you're doing your own work.

Mostly I wanted this to be a very powerful OEM+ car. I didn't want it to look modified or anything, but at the same time it could handle fine on a track if you wanted to. That way I don't get speeding tickets or anything like that.
