I’ve been riding motorcycles for the last three years, and I’ve also crashed three times. The first couple were honestly pretty hard to avoid because I was stationed in Okinawa, and the roads are made of coral there, so they turn into a slip-and-slide when it rains. The third one I had just recently was 100% just a careless mistake on my part though. Even though all three crashes were relatively minor, they injured me each time, and I’m forcing myself to think logically about whether it’s worth risking seriously fucking myself up despite how much I love riding.
I have a Camry that I daily, should I just sell that and the bike for a 3 series? Riding gave me an appreciation for wrenching and driving dynamics, and the only reason I was okay with driving a slow and boring sedan was because I had a Street Triple for when I wanted to have fun. I spend most of my time on the road in my car anyway simply because it’s more practical, maybe it’d be worth becoming a car guy…

>copercycle is dangerous
no shit lol.
get literally anything that isnt an ultimate depreciation machine or a Camry. something enjoyable that wont blow up after 110k, miata or some shit idk, use your brain retard

> Averaging 1 major wipeout per year
I'd get on 4 wheels too at that point.

Organ donors aren't really for this truke: Small engined mopeds that max out at ~50 km/h is the most fun you can have on 2 wheels.

Light. Manoeuvrable. Cheap. Safeish.
The Miata's of 2 wheelers.

What compares? I love the look and blend of practicality and driving feel with the 3 series. I’ve heard they’re way more reliable now. Audi just doesn’t really hit that part of my brain, and I definitely don’t want or need a muscle car. Same goes for a coupe made for midgets.

Make it 140 and we have a deal. Yamaha really should bring WR250 back.

the scary thing is that everything and everyone can fuck you up permanently and you don't even need to go fast or anything. you should consider an EV though nothing is comparable to that acceleration other than super cars.

I ride sport bikes for 20 years now and had 3 accidents. First two in my first year of riding due to being unexperinced, a third one on like 10th year while making a turn on a slippery road. In all cases it was a low impact sliding on the road and didn't leave me with much injuries. Will ride until I die, because the feelings I get from riding are totally worth any risks.
As for the practicality, just have a car. Bike is practical only in the cities, where you can zip trough traffic like it's nothing

Sorry motorcyclebro, but your favorite vehicle has become the value hicle for faggots and boomers in the revelant countries of the world . Didn't want this, but it is just the truth

All the more power to you, I don’t blame you for wanting to keep riding. You can’t really tear up the streets on a bike where I live, and the cheap thrills aren’t worth the bodily, legal or financial risks for me anymore. My physical health is directly tied to my livelihood now, too, that’s the other thing.

yes, modern cars are safe enough that unless you drive straight off a cliff you drive into a wall at full speed you will likely walk away from the accident or at least survive. On a motorcycle, all it takes is one drunk driver or phone-brained zoomer or boomer to completely end your life.

If you really love riding motorcycles, the solution is to have a car you daily drive, and then have a motorcycle for fun jaunts on the weekend

Yerp, it's a skill issue thread.

This really is the thing. What would be a fender bender in a car could be permanent disability or death on a motorcycle. And accidents are more or less statistical inevitabilities based on how long you’re on the road. You can mitigate the risk, but you can never get rid of it. This is particularly germane for nerds who think wearing a nylon jacket with foam pads will save their bones from snapping when someone in an SUV rear-ends or T-bones them.

I remember almost buying this as my first bike without knowing how GOATed it really was. And then when I wanted to get one years later I found out it was discontinued.

You’ll unironically be a better driver than most BMW drivers if you learned literally anything from your time as rider

i hate bikeniggers but if your cage is a camry you are actually below them.

>street tires on a dirt bike
your ass is black as fuck ain't no doubt.
the thing that makes dirt bikes cool is that theyre stable offroad and able to turn quickly because of the front fork geometry but also light enough to jump them fairly high, if you put street tires on them you will dump them in grass and break your leg.
