>Son, out of the 14,668 Boomer SS's built, only 8,182 had the V8, and of those only 4,174 were the 2-door. Narrow that down to the 1,866 that were cherry bomb red and it starts to get interesting.
>Only 1,468 of those came with the sought-after Woodstock package and only 1,288 were fitted with air conditioning. Now get this... only 968 of those had the optional 22-b 8-track player installed.
>Digging deeper, just 642 of those included the factory moonroof, and believe it or not, only 322 of those featured the 2-tone seat covers. But check this out, only 198 had the special-edition mag wheels and only 112 had the dual exhaust system.
>Not done yet? Just 58 were equipped with the limited 'Lava Lamp' dashboard lighting and only 28 included the high-fidelity sound system.
>Now, the real kicker. Just 6 of these badboys had dual cigarette lighters. Good luck finding another one of these in the wild. I know what I got!

Zoomies dont understand options lists.
Their cars are identical in every way to 480,000 other cars sold that year.
They have a sociopathic tendency to talk shit about everything they dont understand.

boomers don't understand that having a rare car isn't actually fun it's just a fucking liability because all you can see it as is an investment.
if there's a 6 cylinder base mustang and a BOSS 302 FACTORY AC ONE YEAR ONLY STICKER PACKAGE
I would rather buy the base 6 cylinder and put a 351 in.
some of these faggot boomers don't comprehend this because they only care about how much money it'll be worth one day and not about whether it's actually cool.
your fucking one of twenty car that only goes to and from car shows is not cool.
>>

then just do that. who cares what other people like to do. jesus christ.

I dont think vintage vehicles are for you at all. You seem to have missed the point.

Do you collect anything?
Pokémon cards, hotwheels, 1st printing of books (?)
Do you pin insects in shadow boxes or try to identify birds when hiking (?)

You can scour pawn shops for a Babe Ruth rookie card. Or you can find a picture of one on the internet and print it out on cardstock with one of the high detail plotters at Walgreens. But do you think theyre the same?

Nigga you big retarded if you look at any car as an "investment" rarity be damned. Rare doesn't mean shit if nobody gives a flying fuck about it enough to fork over the cash for it
>>
>>28639327
I think minor options and niceties shouldn't increase the total value of a car. Who cares about dual cigs lighters, seat embroidery or fancy OEM sticker ? More stupid options = more potential issues that are expensive to repair.

Just look for a basic setup that you will enjoy driving :
Affordable and easily maintained engine option, manual gearbox, nice color paint, useful interior options and that's it.

You know, getting the rare high-performance package/engine option may sound cool but it's a nightmare to fix in th elong run. What will you do when spare parts are unobtainable ?
>>
>>28639353
its a rant at boomers who wind up prices because bullshit options nobody cares about

i want a fucking cheap chevelle or roadrunner, i dont fucking care that this one had optional lava lamp light on dashboard
>>
While I see the value in options and collecting for it, it is commodifying the hobby and has turned what are essentially underpowered, unreliable and downright dangerous cars (by our standards) into down payments for home or more. Zoomers have completely given up on any car before 1990 as they are all completely priced out of it. These cars will go the way of pre-wars, scrapped or in a stagnating market of irrelevancy.
>>
>>28639518
Boomers just have to find a reason to make their car special. I can go on about how my 68 firebird is special because it has the deluxe interior, air conditioning 160mph speedometer and other shit but at the end of the day, it's just another run of the mill 68 firebird and i fucking love it

boomers i’ve found have this obsession with retelling the entire production history of their car and its history till present, every single time without fail. zoomers have no love for classics since they are squarely a white hair hobby
>>
>>28640955
shut up, geese.
>>

that was the point of his post, criticising the boomers that treat cars strictly as financial investment pieces and nothing more.

Telling the history of your car is cool though (provided it has history) but boomers almost never have any cool stories. Only the owners lf the most beat to shit classics have any stories to tell

I am not interested in your mass produced SPECIAL EDITION cars history just because it's fucking old.
Do you want a fucking pat on the back for your autism plaque retard?
I don't find you interesting because your car is rare and I don't wanna hear you benchrace about how it's only got 7,000 miles on it.

>be me
>be yuropoor
>get myself a turd gen firebird
>go to a meet to talk with some friends
>get to the meet
>entourage of boomers noticed me driving in
>all five of them sitting in those gay folding fishing chairs
>since older usdm cars are somewhat rare here as soon as i park arthritis squad comes up to me
>they awkwardly try to strike up a conversation
>invite me over to their dinosaur camp
>they sit down and ask me where my gay folding fishing chair is so i can sit down
>as if these come standard with all older usdm cars
>stand there for a bit trying to talk with them to be polite
>theyre mostly talking amongst themselves ignoring me even when i try to chime in
>finally my friends come over and i can leave
And from that point onward I've been getting weird looks from them and they never approached me again because I didn't want to act like a boomer I guess? I've met plenty of normal old people and their cars on these events but these were just a textbook example of the worst kind. They didn't even have anything really interesting either.

i missed out on pic related. got an identical model, but this one had really cool history, apparently it was bought by the aussie army way back to ferry some high level colonel around or something, so it had all the options. plus i really liked that army green colour. no idea where it's at now.

>Who cares about dual cigs lighters

I had to add another to my car. Now I have two, bitches! And the 130 mph speedometer which was only available for one year. Later years got the gay 85 mph version.
>>
>>28639623
cars aren't typically something one would "collect" because of how much they cost and how much property and maintenance they require. Its no where near close to collectable shit you can buy off a whim and stuff in your closet or your basement like vintage trading cards or clothes

This is more about the need for boomers to have a trophy even if it's meaningless. Instead of owning something actually rare they fabricate a story about how their normie shit is somehow special. Boomers demanded participation trophies for their millennial kids, which is why those people are genuinely retarded and don't have a functional value system.

They don't really want to sell at all, they want to get something for nothing because that's been their whole fucking reality. This is just another example of the well cheeky pulling the ladder up move, buddy, pal.
