Just got this retarded truck (2020, gas, 80k miles). Would this sell for 30k? Its dented and gay.
4wd 2500 FYI
>>28640520L8T is a sick engine, but you are right OP you should sell it, your hands are much too soft for it
>>28640526Meh. It exists, but its old technology now, also i mean lets be honest... Nobody needs a truck this big.I want to trade it in for a performance EV
>>28640520Sell that inefficient piece for something manly, like a Honda Civic or something.
>>28640541>Nobody needs a truck this big.No, you definitely don't. But try towing heavy equipment or hay bales with a 1/2 ton and you will wind up killing somebody. But yeah, get that truck in the hands of someone who could actually use it. You can go buy a camry or some other gay shit.
>>28640520get a real truck
>>28640526The real reason Im considering selling is that the engine has what sounds like a lifter tick. Im astonished because I thought this engine wpuld be the last to develop something like that. Also, last night driving, had a couple of hard downshifts from gears 2-1. I dont feel like messig with lifters and torque convertors right now so I feel its best to sell before these issues become serious. I paid 26k after shipping. Can it be sold without losing my ass?
>>28640558L8T is a derivitive of the L86 and they also had that "tick", more than likely it's a high pressure fuel pump you are hearing. Very common complaint about the 6.2L too. But you do you boo. If you can get out of it for what you paid for it you are doing good. Couldn't have depreciated that much if you barely drove it.
>>28640568Sounds different than the fuel pump and direct injector ticks. Doesnt sound like a manifold tick either. Literally sounds just like a failed lifter, and is only present when the engine is warm. Its just disappointing that all the modern trucks seem to have there terrible issues when the older ones were so reliable. I have over 300k on my 2008 and it still runs steong, just wanted something with more power and less maitenence than our diesel.
>>28640574Are you certain? Look up "6.2L high pressure fuel pump tick" video and listen to the difference. A true lifter tick will have a deeper tone than a HPFP tick. If you are sure it's a lifter, it was probably due to lack of maintenance. Did you look at it's maintenance history before you bought it? Regardless, if you barely drove it you should be able to get around what you paid for it out of it.
>>28640589I am pretty certain, as Ive watched countless videos of both the HP tick and some DI ticks as well. Maitenence history looks ok enough with regular oil changes etc, albeit a bit far apart. At 80k miles, I wonder if maybe its due to carbon buildup fucking with lifters? At least Im optimistic I can get my money back.
>>28640589Here is a recording of the tickhttps://files.catbox.moe/jl0qiz.mp4
>>28640589But either way i want it gone.Make me an offer if you want.I just want an EV at this point.ICEVs are retarted
>>28640589And one last thing, i can use my fiancee's baby father's truck in the meantime, as he is staying with us and they both WFH
I am rich tall and have a lot of sex with beautiful women
>>28640520I'll give you 8k for it if you give me head in the back seat
>>28640682Yeah that's a bad lifter chewing up the camshaft. GG
>>28641300Checked. Thats what I thought too. Very surprised. Its an issue I didnt expect for this engine.
>>28641321They cheap out on everything nowadays. Hellcats apparently eat cams too.
>>28641332Hemis are well known for this but the L8T, I couldn't find anything on lifter or cam issues for that one.
>>28640520>truck is retarded and gayHow does truck intelligence manifest itself? How does a truck have sexuality?
>>28641346Poor cheap design and backwards features, essentially.
>>28640728>i can use my fiancee's baby father's truck in the meantime, as he is staying with uslmao wut
