Hi /o/ been shopping outbacks and found this seemingly nice specimen. My friend is trying to convince me not to be scared of rebuilt titles, but victory comes with many counselors. As far as I've been able to research and tell from the pictures everything seems to be in order. I believe the accident occurred earlier this year, but does this really look like enough cosmetic damage to total a 6yo outback with such low mileage? Any other issues with this particular model I should be leery of?>inb4 outbacks are overrated shitboxesYes ok thank you, but I've always wanted one. I live innawoods and I need a good work car.>inb4 just buy new, poorfagYes ok thank you. I'd rather not actually. All the clean title outbacks I've been seeing are in the $20k range, which I could splurge on, but why spend double if this one will perform the same?
>>28640838The thing's missing an entire fender, and half of the rest are hanging on by a thread.Just don't unless you plan on absolutely thrashing it
The danger of a rebuilt title often depends on how old it is. Older cars get rebuilt titles for very minimal things, since insurance companies have less to lose. A car from 2019 having a rebuilt title is a red flag imo.
>>28640838Specs in pic, forgot to add to post:2019 Subaru Outback (premium trim?) 2.5l boxer engine66k milesRebuilt Title$11k asking priceNo known issuesI have more pictures if needed. >also inb4 just test drive it and look under the hood. I can't do that until later next week.
>>28640838The whole driver's side looks scraped up, like they hit and rode a wall. The damage is probably more than just skin deep, I'd be wary. I've been eyeing pic-related myself, can someone tell me if it's completely moronic to even consider: it's a 2006 Legacy 2.5GT, 290k km, price is listed at $12,500 leaf bucks, but I think it can be had for lower. Modded, but as far as I can tell (and from the little I know) it all seems fairly conservative. Seems to be in really good condition given the age and mileage. https://edmonton.craigslist.org/cto/d/edmonton-2006-legacy-25gt-wagon-6mt-rbp/7868253227.html
>>28640838>I live innawoods and I need a good work car.Just buy a truck or everyone else in your rural area will think ur gay
>>28641800Ironically the rate of truck ownership seems to be lower in rural areas, at least in Texas. It’s cityfags who all drive trucks.
>>28641785There is no car in existence that is worth that much with mileage that high. Anything over 200k km that isn't a pickup truck should immediately get price capped at $8k maple bucks.
>>28643519Doesn't Texas have like ranches and shit in its rural areas? Trucks are very much a rural area thing in Canada. I lived innawoods in Quebec for some time and I was the only retard driving a little FWD sub compact shit box in the area. Had to get pulled out of the snow once by a Chad in his pickup and that's when I knew it was time for me to get one as well. Winters are no joke in rural areas in the north.
mite b fine and just a victim of insurance doing insurance stuff but how long do you want to keep it? I am talking out of my ass here but I imagine reselling it could be tough unless you accept an offer of a few peanuts for it later. just a few thousand more gets less mileage, clean title, etc
>>28643870Yeah but there’s still people who work at the dollar general and stuff. Ideally the farm/ranch should provide work vehicles. On my grandpa’s farm he does. One of his guys commuted on a kawasaki ninja for years. Although his farm isn’t in Texas.
>>28643858You're right I'm sure, though I doubt they'll go anywhere near that low given it's been sitting stubbornly for 4+ months at the same price. That's annoying, because I really like it otherwise (I don't even know why)
